I know a lot of you wiring folks are pretty familiar with electronic connectors, so figured I’d ask here.

It’s a Trail Tech Voyager Pro base that I was wondering how to de-pin the connectors…..or are they potted/permanent?

Looks like it should be possible to de-pin. Looks like white TPA’s which you’d remove with pick tools, needlenose and / or small flathead. That should expose the tabs to pry then pull out the back.

JST connectors. There is usually a small square hole right above the pin where you’d insert your depin tool of choice. The cheap husky mini screwdriver kit at Home Depot has served me fine in that regard but some of these connector depin slots are tiny as fuck.

Are you reusing them?? If your swapping to a new/different connector you could just cut the old off and pin a new one.

Awesome, thanks for the info!! I have the lowes version of one of those sets to open an old iphone, hopefully that’ll work.

I was thinking of reusing them, not sure yet.

I have used these for some time, they work, nothing special and they are super cheap. Would not recommend if you're de-pinning all day every day, there are much better quality ones out there. For occasional use in the home garage, it should be good.

    Thanks.

it’s a gps unit that has other sensors for rpm, temp, speed and group tracking ….I guess the connectors are more about dummy-proofing that stuff.
