Color me curious. My 02 Taco has some aged TRD off road stickers that seem to have been on the truck for a very long time and are like the stock ones. I have no locking differential but the truck appears to have the 4x4 stance and when I looked at the front shocks the are stamped Toyota and Tokico. I didn't measure but I think the springs may be progressive as well. Maybe someone else swapped to the OEM TRD suspension? The ride is a bit bumpy.

I am thinking of replacing shocks and didn't know if I would need specific shocks if these are in fact factory progressive springs. I also have a bunch of skids plates too. Don't know if someone went thru a bunch of trouble to add all this or if it's possible I actually have a TRD with no locker? Lol

OP, I don't know about the locker rear end, but those shocks are the original shocks. If you're looking for replacement shocks, you can go with the Bilstein 4600HD's. They are about as close to OEM as you can get. Toyota used them on some model's of Tacoma's. Others will say to use Bilstein 5100's which are adjustable and probably preferable if you're going to lift your truck. It"s all in what you want to do, but the parts are out there and you'll find the answers here.

Thanks guys. I may slightly lift down the road for looks but it's a 2wd truck annoys much real need. I don't have a locker button and no locker motor so was curious if someone swapped the suspension. Truck rides decent except for real rough roads so I may replace them with the 4600 HD: )

It is possible to have a TRD with no locker but depends on your config. Some of the 4cyl. 2WD prerunners came without it.

I'm a non TRD.... No locker. But I do have the 8.4 with 4.56 gears. If you have that your a non TRD. But if you have the 8.0 with the 4.10 and elocker then your a TRD.
