    4x4 OFF-ROAD... that is all I need...
I wish I got a non TRD bc the Bilsteins are pretty damn stiff. My friend has 2nd gen like mine but not TRD and it's as smooth as a Camry. My Tacoma is used mainly for rainy days and grocery getter... my gixxer is my daily ride.

Did you install the LSD yourself? I have a 2006 non-TRD 4x4 DC.

cant see the point in getting a TRD other then ATRAC. there's no way a hood scoop is worth 2K more and the billies on an OR are pointless if you lift it.... just do the SR5 and mod the rest. i mean that's why we're here anyway?

Non TRD now. Originally had one but didn't see the need with the mods I planned.

the only thing i miss from my OR TRD is the sport seats. They were much more comfy then the std seats. Why does the head rest tilt so far forward?

I am looking at buying a new 2012 Tacoma 4x4, but trying to decide if I really need the TRD Offroad package. I have never done any serious offroading and would probably only use 4x4 if I ended up somewhere and needed it, I normally wouldnt go looking to use 4x4...

Other than ATRAC, HSC, DAC, etc what's the difference of an SR5 vs the TRD OR as far as the 4x4 system goes ? ? Does the SR5 still have the Auto LSD rear diff?

Just get the SR5. The OR has better seats. You don't need any of the stuff the OR comes with. You may want the sport if you like the seats, color matched outers (bumpers, handles, grille etc) and scooped hood. SR5 comes with auto LSD.

Are the seats in the TRD OR that much better than the SR5?

Other than that, it seems like there is a bunch of other options included with the OR package that would be really nice to have.

Yes, the seats in the OR or Sport are much better than the standard SR5 seats in my opinion. They are bolstered and have better material. I know this as I had the sport before my current SR5.

Only really nice to have if you need it for offroading.
