I truly enjoy my SR5 but really wish I spent the extra coin to get the TRD. Now that I've added all these things to it I can't part with it but still wish I had the TRD.

1st non after 3 TRDs. The non has given me way less guilt adding the things I want. Added Ironman lift and plan on adding ARB lockers...IMO way better for less $ than the TRD package.

I actually tried to get a DC TRD OR 4x4 but the dealer told me there was one left in the state. The frugal shopper in me said, 'no way, I'm not going to get in a bidding war.' I went with an SR5 4x4 DC with tow and am very happy. Probably won't take it off road too much. It will be a pavement princess. Garaged on both ends and maintained very well.

2013 TRD Sport with Leather for me. For me the selling points were leather (easy to keep clean) and the distinct lack of chrome. :)

I'm convinced the majority of people who I know around here with TRD ORs don't even know what a locker is and certainly don't need it for their 100% driving on pavement. The cost premium over SR5 is about $1700 and while it's a judgement call - I personally don't see $1700 worth of value add if one doesn't truly need a locker.

    Here's a 2013 comparison I put together a while back:

Just one opinion but I purposely skipped the TRD option this time. Didn't like the stiffness of the ride on my '03 Double Cab TRD. Did not give at all.

Just took a 3K trip in my '14 SR5 Double Cab Long Bed 4x4 and the bucket seats and the ride were perfect. Zero back ache. I like the long wheel base especially on the highway.

Did a few hours of fairly tough off-roading in the Mohave desert and it's got plenty of shock and spring strength in the suspension without hammering you.

You can always get the SR5 and add various stickers if you like that look.

I also like the look of the standard steel wheels over the typical alloys so I'm sticking with them. They closely match my Silver exterior...

It's right for me but might not be everyone's cup of tea.

Traded in my 11 for the new one and walked in and told the guy that I've bought my last 6-7 vehicles from I want every option that comes on the truck. I don't want anything left off. That's what I got.

Bare bone none trd, I was able to put everything in the truck another from a trd or better for a little over 4k (Detroit full spool locker, front locked, mod outlet in back, trd seat from junk yard, 886 coils with 5100's all the way round Reese hitch and trailer light wiring ect) i don't like the looks of the scoop and prefer to do things my way but the trd is defiantly not a bad option for the price depending on what you are going to change out or mod

There ya go. Some guys want and need the other stuff. I don't so the SR5 was the package for me. I got mine through the internet salesman. Sent an email to a few Dealerships and told them what I wanted, the color, and what I would pay. I got a call within 30 minutes. I went over and picked up the truck the next day.

Totally understandable, I however choose the TRD off road just like the ride quality, seats, locker, for one convenient price :) plus I Haggled for 2 hours for a good price.

anyone know why they delete the front passenger fold flat seats on the TRD packages? cost cutting?
