noob LED Turn signal help!

I just put turn signal LED's in my 05 2.7l taco. I put the rear ones in first and tested them. But when I put the front ones in and tested them none of them work (front and rear). Does anyone know how I can fix this. I don't have resistors but figured you only need them to stop the hyper flashing.

 

check your fuse, it is possible they blew them

 

also look through this as far as the bulbs you're using, apparently there are different set ups

so if it is the fuse and I replace it, will it go out right away again?

 

No when you replace fuse flip bulb over in the socket should work i did it once or twice.

 

yep it'll blow again, but that would explain why it's not working at all, if it's the fuse, u can try flipping it over like he suggested ^^, but i had to clip the inner wires on the bulb

 

So replace the fuse and flip all four bulbs? The fuse box located right behind the little ash tray on the left correct?

 

yea i can't remember if it's in that one, or the fuse box on the driver's side near the battery, but they'll be labeled too, gl

I don't think I'm doing this right. I put a new fuse in rotated the front signals and it blew again. What am I doing wrong??

 

You could have the incorrect bulbs for that socket? or a larger fuse needs to put in but I was told putting a higher amp fuse is bad..

 

Could he need resistors?

 

When you put just the 2 LEDs in the rear you still had enough resistance for the flasher module to work. This setup should have flashed faster.

When you put all 4 LEDs in there wasn't enough resistance for the flasher module to work.

Changing from Incandescent to LED will not blow fuses. Get the resistors for the LEDs or get the LED flasher module.

 

DO NOT put in a larger fuse. The wiring can only handle some much Amperage. Also LEDs use less Amperage so the fuse is fine.

2005-2013 Toyota Tacoma LED Turn Signal Flasher

 

The first thing to be sure of, which I am willing to bet happened, is you need the correct FRONT turn signal LEDs. They are not the same as the rear. The fronts are 3157CK, and the rear are standard 3157. The difference in the front is that the socket is wired differently than a standard 3157 socket. The ground is on a different terminal. This would explain the blown fuse.

 

I was just about to get to that. autolumination.com has ck led bulbs you can use

 

Not sure if this would be the blown fuse problem but when I changed mine. I removed the flasher and moded it directly with the resistors there. I changed the front and rear turn signals to LEDs and tried them. The fronts worked fine but the rears stayed on. Found out I had to change the corners to LEDs as well. No problems after that.
