So I just started looking at Tacomas and don't know much except what I can gather from viewing them on Carmax, Autotrader listings. I'm looking at 2013-2015 models, and I've noticed some have a plasticy looking lower front bumper area and fender flares (and missing fog lamps?) while others do not. What's the package/configuration name for this? Thanks in advance....

Base model is the ones with the unpainted front bumper flares and no fog lights.

    Next up is an SR5

Pre-Runner is going to be a fancy SR5

Then you have the TRD Sports and TRD Off-Roads

The TRD-Pro I believe is available in 2015

And if you're in the south you might find an X-SPX

SR5 Prerunner has the painted front bumper, fog lights, chrome grille surround, and sliding rear window (among other stuff too).

There’s also TRD off-road and sport Prerunners, but that’s not what you asked about.

Don't forget about the SR, that is somewhere between the Base and SR5. It has colored matched bumpers, black alloy wheels, different headlights, and turn signals in the mirrors. I think fog lights were available on the 4.0 SRs.

hey as someone who didn't know the difference when he bought his, look at the number of lug nuts too!! There are differences in suspension set up in the 6 lug vs 5 lug and if you are interested in lifting it AT ALL it's MUCH easier with a six lug. Luckily for me it didn't matter, but had I known I may have held out and looked for a 6 lug.
