To answer on crawl control, we go off road A LOT, and don't use it terribly often. With that said, we did an overlanding trip in Moab and having the crawl control focus on throttle while I was sticking my head out the window trying to find the right line was extemely helpful. It just depends on how you plan to use the truck. I would rather have the crawl control than not. It's one of those semi-assurances that if I get in a predicament off road, I have another tool in the chest to utilize before I have to start pulling out the shovels and recovery boards.

Thanks for the advice. Snow is the most important factor for me. Northern VA is no Maine or Colotoado but NorEasters can certainly blanket us with a foot or 2. With BFG ko2s and 500 lbs in my bed this past winter, I could barely get up my personal driveway in a 5" snow. Had I been trying to come up the private road, no way.. and road manners don't really apply to me. I don't want something that beats me up on the interstate, but I'm also getting a truck, not a Cadillac.

So the Off Road probably sets you up a little better for the snow immediately then, but I would still recommend throwing on some better all terrains sooner rather than later if you can. I run Falken Wildpeaks and am very happy with them so far. Maybe you can weasel the dealership to put a different set on for you prior to leaving the dealership? Both the Sport and Off Road will handle the snow the same way with the same tires.

I like the OR more but was hoping I'd be swayed to save a bit of money and go sport... not looking that way. Resale value is crazy....

Good point. Additional piece of mind is worth a lot in potential bad scenarios.

Recommendation: Buy the one you want the first time. My wife knew I wanted the Off Road and convinced me into it instead of getting an SR. Great decision, and zero buyers remorse.

I'll most likely switch to wild peaks or ko2s pretty quickly. I'd say within the first few months of ownership. And I'm leaning towards wild peaks... never had them but not impressed w ko2s compared to the originals. ATs and 5100s will happen quickly. Nerf bars too no matter what I end up with

Another good point... whatever I get I'll keep at least 4 years until my wife finishes PA school.. so I don't need any buyers remorse.

good tires and basic 4x4 will pretty much get you anywhere. unless you plan on doing some hard core shit you will probably never use all the tinker toys the or comes with. I've only had to use my locker once in 2years and it was cause of my own stupidity heh
