    You are HARDCORE dude!

I have class tonight, but I hope a group follows that ridgeline up at the GPS coordinates I posted earlier and checks out the surrounding areas up there.

Copy/Pasted from the Facebook Group Page (please excuse the references, you know our team as BeeRadd, RJMACREADY, and two of our friends.)

    "Just got home at 5:20AM

Took a search party of 5 tonight to the location where Nick was found. I established a home base on Trabuco Creek Rd alongside the red fire box.

3 of my guys went up a very steep and winding creek bed, effectively reaching the trail that runs along the ridge where Nick was found. Meanwhile, the other search party we met up with informed us that our resident medium sensed that Kyndall could hear us but cannot speak out from being so exhausted. Instead she is shaking branches and tapping rocks. We were in constant radio contact from home base to our foot patrols, and relayed that info. No sounds of that sort were heard.

We are closing in on her location. We know she is somewhere between the trailhead with the big blue porta potty halfway to the holy Jim staging ground and the red firebox, on the SE side of the road. Either on that slope, or the opposite side of that hill.

Keeping optimistic. She's close, she's with us, and the professional rescue teams are deploying in 40 min. "

Be careful up there. That ridge has some of the steepest rock cliffs in the canyon. One wrong move and bad situation will turn to worse.

I agree, no one should go up there without the right gear and experience. The last thing anyone wants is another person needing rescue.

That being said, no one is going to find her hanging out in groups back at the fire departments headquarters around the media vans.. people are going to have to walk up bell view or other trails to get up in the right area.

It blows my mind that they would split up... I understand that decision if it were two seasoned hikers but for these two it was a bad decision...

Glad Nick was found, hopefully he can add some insight on the girls whereabouts once he's sane.

Think about it...it's not that far-fetched.

She is injured, can't move, he's comforting her by staying by her side. It's x amount of days/hours later, and they are dwindling away on the hillside. He HAS to make the decision to find help.

The worst part is how her spirits are left after he goes out and does not return. I hope she keeps her morale up, for her own survival. It's amazing how much the human will can influence how situations like this go down.

KFI just played a portion of my phone call to their news desk on the air, but of course edited it down to remove the fact that I was pissed at their bias/mocking of the volunteer effort. lol

Latest report from local news station website:

The teenage hiker still missing in the Trabuco Canyon area of Orange County apparently couldn’t keep up with her friend as the two tried to make their way out of the brush, possibly because of a twisted ankle, her father said.

Russ Jack said Cendoya indicated that he had communicated with Kyndall Jack even after they were separated. He said, ‘I haven’t seen her for a day. I think she’s already been rescued.’
“But apparently Kyndall has twisted her ankle or something and could not keep up with Nicholas trying to get out of the brush they’re in.”

The local news is hours, sometimes days behind.

Those statements were made while Nick was completely exhausted and dehydrated. Those statements cannot be taken as accurate info.

wth.. I will refrain from comment considering we don't know the source, but that's crappy if true.

Very true. Aside from many times being 'old' information, it can also be inaccurate.

Also, sorry for not posting my source.
Traveler is correct, those statements appear to have been given by the rescued hiker while he was disoriented.

    http://fox5sandiego.com/2013/04/04/...ankle-officials-ramp-up-search/#axzz2PW5yqmDU

The teenage hiker still missing in the Trabuco Canyon area of Orange County apparently couldn’t keep up with her friend as the two tried to make their way out of the brush, possibly because of a twisted ankle, her father said.

After spending the night at the Trabuco Flyers Club, Dawn Jack, left, mother of missing hiker Kyndall Jack, talks with family members before the search for her daughter resumed Thursday morning. Kyndall Jack’s hiking companion, Nicholas Cendoya, was rescued Wednesday night. (Irfan Khan / Los Angeles Times / April 3, 2013)

Russ Jack told the Los Angeles Times on Thursday morning that some information had been gleaned from his daughter’s friend, Nicholas Cendoya, 19, who was rescued Wednesday night. Cendoya and Kyndall Jack, 18, called authorities Easter Sunday and said they were lost.

Cendoya was “disoriented and confused” when he was found, said Lt. Jason Park of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

Russ Jack said Cendoya indicated that he had communicated with Kyndall Jack even after they were separated. When he was found Cendoya thought the girl had also been saved, Russ Jack said.

“Nicholas obviously was disoriented because of dehydration … he thought that Kyndall had already been rescued,” Russ Jack said. “He said, ‘I haven’t seen her for a day. I think she’s already been rescued.’ “

“Of course we all kind of broke up. That hurt us that they split up somehow,” he continued. “But apparently Kyndall has twisted her ankle or something and could not keep up with Nicholas trying to get out of the brush they’re in.”

Other hikers in the area reported coming across Cendoya on Wednesday night. Ground crews coordinated with a helicopter and located him about 8 p.m., but found no sign of Jack.

Report of Kyndall's injury has not been verified, but I do have a sneaking suspicion that is what happened.

What else is he supposed to do? Carry her out like a superhero movie? They needed help; after three days without water, your survival is no longer measured in days.
