Are lockers something that should be considered mandatory?

Once the date is set, ill know if I can make it. Pretty busy the beginning of Sept and was thinking of heading back to Oregon for my b day at the end of the month but we'll see.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
Hell some of the FJ's with us last trip had stock skids you just need to choose your lines. I think wheeling with less protection turns you into a better wheeler you will pay more attention to your lines when your less protected. Sliders are a must but this trail can be done without under belly skids.

No just recommended MJ proved to us on the last trip some of the hardest lines can be taken open/open

Hmmm...when you mentioned equipped rig only, it kind of made me second guess about going. I'll think about this one a bit. I'm trying to sell off a few parts to pickup some skid plates then I'll feel better tagging along.

Yeah skids would help but it can be done without.

 sure you could make it about the first 20ft ;) it is one way in one way out so you could always drive up to the trail head and jump in someone elses truck for the trail.

2wd is pointless on rock trails, its like bringing a bicycle to the motogp

Check my build thread...too much to list.
I'm gonna try and make it out and I'm open open. You're a little more protected than I am though. I don't got bumpers or a winch yet.

It wouldn't be advisable for me to run Deer Valley right? I'm sick of Hollister and want to test the 4runner on a real trail, but not into destroying my DD.

You could do it but your bumpers might get in your way :D Also i think your a little too low and not having skids it would be rough with your truck at stock height.

I'm not at stock height. I've got 3" in the back and 2.5" up front, but I'm only running 32's. Stupid front 99+ bumper sticks out way too far for my liking.

Haha, I want to, but no monies. Also Jerry and Jerry #2 (Jason) made me adamant about getting a s/c before bumpers. I might be getting a rear tube bumper for cheap ($100) soon, but the front is my issue.

of course they would say that, they're both blown lol. but even after you get a s/c, you still wont be able to go on some of the trails.

Haha, yeah true, but I figure a s/c will be useful every time I step on the gas. A bumper will be useful 10 or so times a year. I might be starting a welding class this month, so maybe I can learn just enough to fab a decent bumper for these types of trips.
