Got to go to the Indy 500 a few years ago. Really cool. Loud.

 

For sure, I grew up in Muncie (home of the Muncie 4 speed) and Indianapolis, went to the 500 every year thru my childhood, most times down in the pits with my dad. Loved every minute of growing up back there went to local stock car races every other weekend in Winchester and Anderson where Figure 8 track was normal with incredible insane crashes. My dad raced Morgans and stock cars, we built a 69 chevelle stock car, out of a wreck, in high school auto shop and took turns driving it our local fairgrounds races. I think I just can't watch another Dodge Challenger or Camaro with a V6 and flowmasters or Honda with 4" exhaust making a ton of noise and not going anywhere.

I can also vouch for the tractor like Indy car sounds. Modern f1 (hybrid) are actually hardly loud at all now, hearing protection isn’t even needed now. Kind of boring honestly. MotoGP on the other hand...
