Nope, not a mistake. That link is for just one leaf pack. That link automatically populates, I didn't mean for that to happen.

@Fernando let's see that statistics knowledge. What percentage discount is he offering?

    Is that discount statistically significant?

Yeah buddy! Alex owns fit garage and is a really goo friend of mine. A local company called Yota Imports brings in the trucks, Alex does the work / engine swaps and someone gets a gorgeous truck. He actually just sold his tan Troopy to a dude in SF.

Yeah don’t give that dude too much praise, GFC shared design info to him free of charge and now he’s turning around and charging for it. Dick move.

I don't know if that's a totally dick move. I'm inclined to think of it as a dick move but not totally convinced.

How many design ideas did GFC share that aren't readily available in photos all over the internet? I think this is a more important question. I should probably read his thread in more detail but I have a camper to finish building.

Angles and dimensions are easy to figure out. The actual construction techniques are pretty basic and easy to figure out.

All the files he's selling are CAD files. Are those GFC's own CAD files? I'm sure they know about his build thread and probably wouldn't be pleased to see he's selling what is their property. I've found more than one camper build on Expedition Portal where someone asked for CAD files and the owner says nope, those are mine they are not free or available, sorry.

Also, when you get his files he customizes them to your type of truck. There's value in that. Is it worth $100 for all the files?....no idea.

It's interesting that this is free.

This stuff takes forever to figure out. I spent a huge amount of time sourcing materials. I wish I'd found this when I started my camper. I could have saved a lot of time. I wouldn't use all of it but some of it for sure.

It would also have inspired myself to make similar spreadsheet. It's part of the build after all, right?

But...at the end of the day...it's a GFC design that he's selling plans for.

He denied it when I sorta called him out for it but I have a good source that GFC shared a lot of info with him directly (not him just measuring a camper) with the spirit of community and now he is turning around and charging for everything. Again, maybe it’s just me, but if I was able to get help from a company and save thousands by not buying their product the least I would do is not charge to pass on the info. Yes the work and time he spent on the plans have monetary value but so did the R&D GFC shared. I don’t know, if someone gifts you something pay it forward if you can is my thought. Maybe I’m old fashion

    I think that's pretty fair.
Personally, I wouldn't sell the plans. Pay it forward is a good way to put it.

I mean, maybe he’s selling his plans for his version cause his doors aren’t blowing off, panels aren’t leaking and hinges are, well, actual hinges. :cookiemonster:

Ooof...I didn't know they had problems like that.

I only worry about my own camper's doors blowing off, leaking and falling apart. So far none of that has happened but the thing has barely been used.

They created a ‘PIT’ product improvement tour to fix up to 150 of their early models for ‘warranty’ and ‘improve’. They’re sly with wording, always quick to call warranty work or replacements as ‘retooling’ and ‘upgraded’.

If I bought a $6k camper and noticed 20 other owners had doors blowing off randomly or insane leaking, I’d be wanting my money back. It’s a cool concept, just terrible execution. Lots of kool aid in their forums apparently.

I mean to be fair if I went with a wedge camper it would 100% be a vagabond.
