Just got back from a mountain bike ride.
I spent a good portion of my ride thinking about selling my cyclocross bike. I rarely ride it anymore.

The rear suspension on my truck is way too soft, my fault, I have had too much weight a few times. I’m lucky enough that I was able to get a set of almost new off-road shocks, but I don’t want to replace them until I get a leaf pack as I think that’s the issue. The question is, should I get another leaf pack or get one of those AAL pieces? my truck is stock

You can probably snag a new OEM pack someone just swapped out for $100 +/-

Not sure what all you’re carrying but I was pretty happy with my 3 leaf AAL from Wheeler’s. Headstrong makes a good one also.

Worked great for me until I got that shell.

I don’t have to carry things on regular basis, but sometimes I’m too lazy or limited time to go get a company truck.

3 leaf AAA would add 3 more pieces to the existing leaf pack?

Yes it would. I had an Icon AAL and now that I updated to an aftermarket leaf pack I realize what I was missing out on. Much more flex and better ride. Win win in my book. I’m running an ATS leaf pack FYI.

But my understanding is that an aftermarket leaf pack is always to lift, correct?

Most all packs will provide lift, as will AALs, unless you have constant load on them. They provide weight capacity through arch (lift) as well as stiffness.

maybe take a look at air bags if you’re only carrying heavy stuff from time to time.

Inflate when loaded, deflate when empty.

If you get a leaf pack for occasional heavy loads your truck isn’t going to ride well when empty.

At maybe $2500, it wouldn't be so wrong.

But at $6500, with a blown head gasket and salvage title? Really?

Actually... I think I'd buy that at $2500. Everyone needs another hole in the ground to throw money in, right? :bananadead:
