Whaaaaaat?! I didn't know that. I guess I'll have to find something similar. I really want a .45 that isn't bulky.

I think I'll just go with the Glock 30. Compact with stopping power. I've always liked them when I go shooting.

How's that 1911 though, do you have one?

Yea I've got a Springfield MC Operator. Lovely gun. Pretty bulky though if you want a compact hehe. I looked at the Springfield XD40 and the Smith and Wesson Shield 40, and the Shield just felt better and was more conpact...the XD just felt bulkier. Not a huge fan of glocks, just personal preference.

G30 is one of my favorite handguns.

    It isn't bulky, but it isn't slim. Albeit I'm 6'7 280 lbs, it's a great shooter.

25 yard groups on par with my 1911s, from a $700 Springfield to a $1800 Les Baer, and out of a barrel 1.5" shorter, with 10 round mags?! Yes sir. Love Glocks.

If you're considering a .40 try a CZ75B (if your range has one to rent). I tried a handful of different .40 S&W when I was looking and the CZ was hands down the most comfortable and accurate. By far. I have my Dads Remington Rand 1911 .45, which is the most comfortable pistol I've ever held, and the CZ has a somewhat similar look.

I have heard good things about the cz. I love the Springfield xd 40 and 45. There great guns. Fits better in my hands then the glocks but there all nice to shoot. Im not a big fan of my Springfield 1911. For some reason i shoot like shit with it. Maybe i just need more time with it.

Oh man, why do I have to read about this gun talk now? I deciding between a HK USP 45 or a Springfield 1911 green Operator, thoughts?

Both are nice. They're very different, though, so you should handle both and see which feels best. I wanted a USP bad, handled one and hated it.

If you've handled both and still can't decide... get whichever you want!

Go shoot them both. Both pop up on CalGuns for sale used. Personally I like the HK or even a Sig. My favorite 1911 has been my. Sig with Hogue grips, however the operator I sold was definitely another favorite. I'm a big fan of Springfields but for the money in an operator you can pick up a sig 1911 or lower end model and upgrade with Wilson or other parts to get a pretty dam nice gun.

    2 cents,
    -Jon

I have a Springfield milspec, not the highest end 1911 but hands down better than any of my polymer hand guns.

The top 1911 pistol smiths of the world accept only 2 brands of mass produced frames for customer builds.

    Colt, and Springfield Armory.

SA is a great brand, and one of the best values in 1911s IMO.
