There's these Cooper tires on CL. I was hoping for some help/advice, as I'm new to knobbies.
From the tread, it looks like they've got the same pattern as the st maxx, I was wondering if anyone might be able to confirm that. The tread looks a little stale, but they start with 12/32nd's (right?) so 10/32nd/s is still a lot of tread left: I was hoping for guidance there as well.
I'd really like to try the st maxx tires, but I can't afford a new set right now (and am about to need new tires, regardless of the state of my wallet). This seemed like a way to punt on getting a brand new set, and still get to give some Coopers a try.
Seems like a reasonable idea to me, but if it's not, I'd be grateful for feedback.

Honestly those look pretty pitted, don't know if someone on here or just a random, but they were definitely used and abused offroad.

 

Look like maxx to me, these are my old ones. The ones in the ad look several years old, the rubber might be dried up

Since they are at RT Tire and not a private sale I would suggest trying to get a deal on the install. I can't imagine they wouldn't boogie on the labor price a lil to get these used tires put the door.

 

.. just buy a new set. Then you don't have to worry about blowing up on you when your out and about

Places will finance them. Get a new set so you don't have to worry about riding on a old set. No one is ever happy with dried out rubbers lol

 

Also ST MAXX start at something like 18/32 IIRC, maybe more? Too lazy to do your search for you...

Thank you @VolcomTacoma. I appreciate the guidance, I don't know why I took it for granted that tread depths might be the same across brands! (and apparently chose an incorrect value for that depth, on top of that). Will try to do a bit more research before gettin carried away with truck dreams :-D
