wtf the camper is connected to the cab, wouldn't that be an issue with frame flex?

 

That truck wasn’t designed for any serious Offroad. Plus, that’s how a lot of the 70’s and eighties camper builds were.

 

"Backup camera in the rear view mirror" ... doesn't seem like a particularly good location.

 

Don't need to go wheeling to get enough flex between the cab and bed, just going over bumps on roads you can see a camper shell shaking in a way that if they were connected would cause issues. That's why getting a bed topper with one of the gaskets for an opening to the cab rear window is such a bad idea, at the very least it rubs the paint off.

 

I guess that's how it's been done before though like you said, just hard for me to imagine something not getting stress fractures quickly from that.
