it is. the week of and 4 days after, forget about it.

To keep this thread fishing related.

I set up a side yard aluminum awning to part the boat under. It was out front two days and got over 6 gallons of water on the tarp so i had to work fast. Its staying dry now. Looks like next Saturday could be a good weekend to hit the lake.

Wish I could relate to you guys that have boats. Instead I’m still sitting over here trying to find time to test the new (to me) kayak from @marintacoma

All I can share of it so far is a photo of it on my roof. Smh

i thankfully pulled the plug when i hosed out the boat after the ocean fiasco and the interior was disgusting. Made sure to leave that out for the time being and cranked the front all the way up so it would drain if necessary.

Hopefully you can make it out... supposed to be cleared up a bit by next week weather-wise. I have family coming into town that next weekend, otherwise I’d forsure be out on the delta with the kayak. May still sneak out for a few hours honestly. Lol

Makes sense then. Hell yeah! I told myself id slow down on fishing gear for awhile, and this past weekend was the first weekend in probably 5 years that I didn't buy anything fishing-related on sale. Having to buy truck parts last week didn't help, but still feels weird not expecting any fishing gear in the mail this week.

TW was the hardest one for me to stay away from. I actually kept throwing shit in my cart just to see how much of a discount I was going to get and right before I would go through with it id close the window tab. My lady probably thought I was looking at porn or something all weekend.

I can’t decide if I want a good sit/stand kayak or build a mini bass boat out of a lil 12-14 aluminum. Decisions decisions.

In a perfect world (enough space to keep everything) Id have a kayak and small aluminum boat, but if I had to get one, I feel like Id probably get a kayak before a small boat first. I feel like a small boat would be so much more comfortable over long periods of fishing and can bring people/dog/more gear, but the kayak deal is nice because you can usually get into spots where you couldn't take a boat and its probably going to be easier to haul around when you just want to "go fishing." A good example..... one of the spots I frequent on the delta is nowhere near a boat ramp, but with a kayak, I can pull off the side of the road and drop the kayak in the water and I'm fishing within 10 minutes... kinda nice.

I'm sure the boat owners have some good reasons for doing the boat deal over the kayak though. Lots of pros and cons to both that a noob like myself probably doesn't know. Lol.

The plan for me is to actually purchase a Bass Boat this upcoming Summer. If I do my little Aluminum boat will be for sale, I'll let it go for next to nothing.

Hit up Shadow Cliffs in Pleasanton this morning to try and land some of those Lightning Trout they recently planted. Nothing for me (been having horrible luck) but my father landed a couple of trout.

He was jazzed - hasn't caught/really been fishing in years (Now that he's retired, I've been trying to get him out for a fishing day every couple of weeks). Did rain pretty good for the first hour or so we were out there. After it tapered off he caught both of them. Stopped off for lunch after calling it a day and he says "Since you can't go this weekend, I'm going back without you!"

    Bait used:
