I have seen guys hit with grubs and some custom flies. I am pretty well bank bound. Gonna have to get out to the Sacramento River I guess.

Striper seem to like them... I haven't had one myself, but people seem to take them home.

We did well at Shasta a couple of days ago. Got up there about noon on Thursday and fished until Friday afternoon.

We ended up with mostly spotted bass, a few largies (including a nice 4 1/2lber I nabbed Friday morning) and a smallmouth.

Best part was probably the fish fry we had on Thursday evening. Spots taste amazing!

Overnight was borderline suffering since we slept in our trucks. We got into them with the typical challenges. Wind, boats, stubborn fish. We got kudos from the sheriff for wearing PFD’s. We saw a college girl shotgun a beer while wearing a tiny bikini. Semi circle of friends chanting, “chug chug…”. At 7:00 am! Youth!!

I dint have any photo worthy fish. Regular spotted bass. But Kat git a giant. His story, his photo.

The wind is crazy. I keep thinking its going to die down overall, but nope. Couple days ago I drove out to Sonoma with my dog just to check it out and it literally looked like a stormy ocean out there. White cap everywhere and major dirty water. Sucks too because now as we move into fire season, that wind shit is what makes things even more deadly.

Holy shit that looks amazing. I’ve heard you have to put in a lot of work in order to find those golden trout. Once you find ‘em, do they eat the same shit as other trout do?

Yeah they are cool! I just didn’t know if they bit the same baits as other trout or if there was some kind of unique bait to use. Lol

Same flies work. They are super spooky and hard to get to in terms of location. If they see your shadow it's not happening. With good stealth and technique they aren't much more challenging than the rainbows.
