Two weeks ago pulled some unicorns on the boat. First time seeing White Sea Bass on the bay in my 18 years heading out on various charters.

Oh shit! I bought a little 12’ Aluminum Gregor back in August for $400. Been working on it since. So far I’ve stripped and painted the inside, redid, reinforced and carpeted the seats. Ran electrical with fuses and all that crap, got a new 55lb thrust Minn Kota and a Garmin fish finder. Got a 2 stroke 15hp Johnson I’ve got to work on so I can start making it out to Clearlake but this thing has been perfect for the lake here where I live.

Makes me want to go out and try just to see what I can get. Every time I'm downtown in Petaluma and I cross the bridges over the river there in town, I get tempted to go back and walk along the bank with a fluke or something.

Fucking love this. I’ve always dreamed of getting a cheap, old boat and recreating it from the bottom up. So cool dude!

I usually go to Lake Hennessy for bass because its not too far from me. Mostly cast from the shore but some times take my canoe. Your guys fish pictures definitely put my to shame. :bananadead:

One of the reasons I wanted to create a fishing BS thread... cause I know there are tons of folks on here who know a lot about all kinds of fish/techniques from the eastern sierras to the ocean and everywhere in-between. Lol

Definitely looking forward to learning more tips and tricks. I’m pretty much the only one that fishes from my friends and family so I usually head out by myself. My brother in law is really the only avid angler so hell tag along from time to time. Wouldn’t mind tagging along with one of y’all some time. Maybe we can do a TW fishing trip some time.

If anyone wants to make the Trek to Lake County I usually go out on the lake in our community every Friday/Saturday.

Got a spare bedroom if you need to crash for the night.

Once I get the outboard going we can do Clearlake but not going out there with just a trolling motor haha.

I come from a primarily ocean fishing background. Recently picked up bass fishing and have been having a ton of fun out there on my jon boat at Lake Sonoma. Hope to venture to Clearlake at some point. I hear there are some hogs out there. Either way, my go to is a texas rig or shallow crank baits. Need to get a bit more proficient with frogs and bass fishing as a whole. Looking forward to learning more from all of you guys/gals!

May have to take you up on this for a day of fishing. Have you fished Pillsbury Lake? Now that I something to float around in, I'm reconnecting with old fishing places I've wanted to fish but never did.

For anyone looking to get on the water instead of around it, but cant afford/fit a boat, non-blow up canoe/kayak like me, the kayak pictured is the Intex Explorer K2 (https://www.amazon.com/Intex-Explorer-2-Person-Inflatable-Aluminum/dp/B00A7EXF4C). Came with literally everything to get on the water minus the life jacket, and is built surprisingly well for the price. Took me about 10 minutes in total to air up and get it on the water. equally as quick to deflate and roll back up into the bag. Worth the $90 just in getting to all the spots I never could from the bank. Lol

Yeah I've primarily been finesse fishing; dropshot/senko/ned rig. Trying to get into top water/punching.

Not yet, I know where it is and how to get there. Supposedly they're going to be stocking the lake in our community with Trout come Feb/March.

Good to know. May hold off on that place a bit longer then. If all works out though, I'll shoot you a PM here in the next week or two and swing up to do some fishing with ya.

This is from Lake Sonoma, just out of Yorty Creek.

I’ve had the most luck with the Texas rig. Purple worm has seen the most action for me.
