Nice! Thanks for the tips. I’ll have to explore those other coves/creeks more then. They look awesome, but just never thought about getting to them at this point since I have been doing well at yorty.

My little po dunk fishing spots are almost never crowded. With everyone off work, there were people fishing all 4 of my spots this morning, I dont think Ive seen that even on a summer weekend... Most of the spots mean you have to scamper down some rocks and are at least 6' from the trail. Im jonesin to go fishing bad, tides look good his week. If I can go on walks/bikerides (which I have with kids, trails are packed with people getting out) then I can't see how fishing would be banned. Im further away from anyone while fishing than anything else... I was thinking fishing for food is certainly an essential task too @jon_elc

If I can stop myself from drinking beer all day I might go throw some jigs tonight...

Who’s hungry? Cooked up some bass and mashed potatoes for dinner. Never disappoints.

Ill say, if you just wanna get into some fish, the Delta/Sac River is probably the best place to do it. If you don't want to venture down to the Delta, I've caught some nice bass all along the Sac river throughout the Sac area.

Best luck from the bank has been near the CHP academy (off 80), and near the bridge/along the bank right by the River Cats stadium. Both spots are easily accessible and comfortable to setup. Double the chances and bring one pole with a bottom rig (nightcrawler or shrimp) and another pole with a moving lure (spinner, crankbait, etc).

From what I have noticed in that area, smallmouth are plentiful, while largemouth can be a little harder to get in to. Both taste good if cooked right and smallmouth are incredible fighters.

For the record, I threw some jigs and swimbaits the other night. Nada. Neighbor had pictures of his buddies 29 and 30” stripers from the same area. All I caught was seaweed, and I even set the hook on a patch of it

Brother went to the lake today. Spotted only one. Guess they’re in quarantine too.
    About to completely abandon Berryessa

Went to Clearlake today, launched out of Red Bud. Tons of people out. Got skunked. Still had fun and got out the house so was a win in my book!

I’ll be out there somewhere on the kayak. Told my two brothers I’d go out with them on our kayaks and try to find some fish.

On a similar note.... you need another rod? I have another Abu Garcia Veritas spinning rod I don’t use. It’s a 1-piece 7’ MH.

What the fuck does it even feel like with a seal on? I feel like I’d barely have time to hang on before the line would snap. Lol

lol that’s what I said. I guess he had a striper on and all of a sudden drag was screamin. No slowing it down. Saw seal jumping like crazy, then went slack. Hook came out of striper and released

Nice Lake Sonoma trout. I have caught many there and that would be at least as large as any of them.

Oh man! what a rush. That would be a hell of a story to tell. Sometimes out by rio vista I see a seal swim by while I’m fishing and I always think; “man what if one of those fat bastards picked up my bait and ran......” I guess now I have an idea. Lol

Seen many steal fisherman’s fish off their lines and when they keep their catch’s off the side of the boat. They just swim up and snatch them.
