We shouted them out of being able to make a decision today

Looks like statewide ban is not an option they are considering

Sounds like maybe they are going to start with banning "hotspots" and whatnot first. Things like boat ramps and other popular fishing areas. Would have been nice to see what would have taken place on that call though. Folks shouting stuff like; "make a stand, join the klan!" totally ruins it for everyone else and now the government folks are probably like;"well we tried... guess we can just make our own decision and roll it out how we want" (which is probably what they were going to do anyway).

may even have been a set up by them. Knowing the public would act like children. Now they can say they attempted. Just a bad look.

Caught a shovel nose guitar fish last night, a first for me. Put up a good fight, had my drag screamin a few times...

Cut anchovies on the fish finder rig. I like to cut off head and tail off, thread a bait needle through it and onto my leader. Wrap it with magic string. Youre left with the hook shank nicely inside anchovy, and the point sticking out waiting to put a lil prick in a big mouth...

That’s how I rig my set up for striper. I hate when they gut hook and bleed all over the place because smaller bait though.

yeah, I don’t like it when they gut hook. Got some out by turning the hook over through the gills. If I can’t unhook em, they become dinner. Hate when it’s a shorty, kinda sucks to know it’s a goner and you can’t keep em.

Ive been trying to use circle hooks more this year, but I forgot I had one on the other day and set the hook right out it’s mouth :annoyed:

For the record the striper in above pic was about 20-21inches. Was using a bait holder but got it right in the lip. Put her back to keep fattening up though

I went out a couple of times this past weekend. Saturday I waded part of the Russian River in hunt for big smallmouth, but came up empty-handed. At one point we found a cool hole and could see 10+ GIANT smallmouth pacing along some gravel/rocky bottoms.... assuming they are trying to spawn, but they wouldn't hit anything we threw their way.

Sunday I hit the Delta and caught only a couple bass while losing another three or four. Super slow out there lately. I suspect with the pre-spawn/spawn taking effect, my usual hotspots (which are fairly deep) aren't packed with fish like they usually would be (and they are being more picky with what they eat and when this time of year).

I'm still super bummed the lakes and whatnot are closed around where I live. Lake Sonoma would be the place Id be fishing right now if access were open.

Have you tried the Russian River below the Alexander Valley Bridge for Smallmouth. During my many years in Healdsburg that was my go-to for smallies.

I’ve actually driven on that bridge a few times to see if it was a fishable spot but never stopped. I should try it this summer. Last year I waded the absolute SHIT out of portions of the river. Some days it seemed like I could catch 20 smallmouth or pikeminnow, while other days I got lucky with one or two. Very interesting water system.

What’s this crazy news about selling the Tacoma?! Can’t wait to see what you get next and how you mod it for fishing/boat hauling.

Yup, selling and moving to something full size. Looking at an F250 or a Sierra 2500HD
