i just started fishing this year again after a 20+ year break, too. when i was a kid, i fished for trout, bluegills, and then bass.

So far this year, I've just been fishing the ocean... here's a day of perch fishing

my brother and dad have the currado, they're awesome reels but above my pay grade.

Went out to the lake yesterday and the water was glass! They were jumping all around us so we used top water poppers and nailed two then it just died the rest of the day.

Could i give it a look some day? Me and Ieva have been throwing around the idea of picking something up for the lakes around here. Aluminum boat seems to be what would be realistic but haven't checked many out in person.

I wish I had the space for a boat like yours or James. I just got that kayak and although it’s night and day for getting me into spots I always dreamed of going in to, it’s godly uncomfortable and isn’t very durable. I think this thread may finally push me into getting a storage unit or something so I can finally get a little flat bottom boat or something similar. Just being able to stand up and cast on a little boat would be a fucking miracle for me.

Got that reel in, paired up with one of those Six Gill rods. This is a Akalyos 7’ 2” Medium - Moderate Fast.

Stoked to get out on the water later today and try this bad boy out!
