i expect that all outdoor recreation (lakes, parks, campgrounds, beaches, etc.) will be closed again and for longer than it was because "we" obviously cannot be trusted to self-monitor, keep separate, wear masks, and stay home even when uninfected and especially when knowingly COVID + and asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic.

many people are falling into a false sense of security because no one "looks sick." we all know how to keep a wide berth from someone who is sneezing and coughing, but to treat everyone out there ,including family members, as if they could infect you by being close enough to make eye contact...

admittedly, a month ago after fishing when walking on the beach back to my car, i had some friendly conversation as i was walking in the same direction as some unmasked people. and after we split away from each other, i realized i had been taking some unnecessary risk by being as close as I was... we just sort of fall into old habits.

guess it might be time for night fishing so i can avoid more people.

That sounds epic. I wish I had stopped over by Klamath on my way home from Oregon a couple weeks ago. Home-related errands kept me hauling ass back for home, but next time I’ll def be stopping over there and exploring.

Honestly, either 101 or I-5 is a good hour+ from the best steelhead fishing on the Klamath.

I still want to explore that entire north-east part of California too, so I have some work cut out for me. Burney falls, Lake Britton, that whole area would be cool to check out. My wife and I were going to see that last month but things just never worked out.

I think live bait saltwater is my favorite type of fishing. Getting a lil better with the cast net, and found a jack smelt honey hole. 4-6”, perfect bait. One got a big bite outta his belly last night but didn’t get hooked. Need to get some treble stingers...

i shook off the skunk at the beach today with this surfperch. there was alot of people fishing this particular beach. last year i could look both ways without seeing another fisherman.

Was at Point Reyes north beach and seen 6 fishermen among the beach goers. Was shocked.

Ahhhh man Icast 2020 saw some nice stuff come out. I always tell myself; “hey save your money for a few months buddy” after I buy something fishing-related but then it always ends up with more stuff showing up at my door the following week... especially after a big product launch like Icast. Lol

I was watching that on TV, and basically made my wife watch along with me saying every 5 minutes, OHHHHH, I need THAT. and her reply was, are you sure you need that? and then i was like - ohhh Kayak section - we HAVE to watch this- I need one of those.

I think I’m starting to get the hang of this thread wrapping! Just got done epoxying the guides on this rod. The tip top I got for it doesn’t fit, once the new one comes in it’ll be complete and ready to fish.
