Fronts suck! Can make or break a fishing day forsure. I may hit the delta for a couple of hours tomorrow with the lady. Supposed to be fairly nice out minus the smoke.

Not fish related but I took the time yesterday to polish the boat up since its needed it bad since i got it from my dad. He just washed and let it self dry his ownership so i wanted to show it some love and finish it off with a ceramic coating designed for gel coat and salt water. Hopefully slow down the oxidization. Really brought the boat back to life and took the yellow out.

boats are expensive as i've seen my brother buy a brand new bass boat, my dad buy a brand new deep V boat. I want no part of that yet so im trying to make my stuff last haha. She aint the best boat but she does fishing and tubing well enough for me to enjoy often.

Went to the Russian River with my dog and lady this afternoon for an hour. Smokey as shit so we didn’t stay long, but found a little hole with a bunch of smallmouth. All were smaller, but still a fun fight!

i'm worried with all of the new fishermen, that our waters are going to be fished out.

Yeah that’s definitely happening at some of the lakes and rivers forsure. Personally, I’ve checked out a couple fishing spots that I frequent that are usually totally empty and they have been packed with people each time I go. I will say though, it’s not as bad as I thought it would be (so far).

Went to the delta today with my two brothers. One of them got a new kayak and wanted to test it out so we met up near walnut grove and did some fishing. We SMOKED the bass. Most were small, but we probably got 70 or so “in the boat” between the three of us.... conditions were perfect and the bass were munching. Soft plastics and some good ole-fashioned crankbait action were the top baits today.

Russian River for a couple of hours on Friday: 5 or 6 smallmouth. Nothing much for size, but a helluva fight from each one in that river current!

Jenkinson Lake yesterday: wife and I paddled around the entire lake. Picnic’d, swam, and I managed to get a few minutes in for fishing. Didn’t get shit all day until the very end when we were paddling back to the truck. 2 decent spotted bass and 3 small smallmouth bass. They didn’t hit anything but a ned rig.

Had to look up what a shovelnose was. Guitarfish. Ray family. Interesting. Says the tail meat is quite tasty. How did you prepare that?

That works, as well. 99% of the fish I catch get the same treatment.

I’m the same way. 9 times out of 10 all fish are released, but every so often I get an itch for a little fish fry. Try to get crappie and bluegill for those, but bass are good too and are usually what I catch the most of anyway.

I want to try a smallmouth bass as dinner. Heard it’s great. For now, walleye is really the only freshwater fish I like. I find the texture of largemouth a bit too soft. So i basically let all the fish go.

    Gently!

‘Crazy how many YouTube personalities those the fish in so roughly.
