Had about 30 minutes to fish this evening after running errands all day. Caught a few smaller bass and a decent one (pictured). All caught on a crawdad ned rig.

Yesterday when I stopped briefly to fish, I was near an old bridge that has a super deep channel that runs right underneath.... and as I was standing there looking around/jigging my ned rig, right next to the concrete pillar of the bridge, a GIANT shark-looking tail and a long body came up very briefly and retreated back down into the hole. 9999% sure it was a big sturgeon, and it got me feeling weak at the knees of excitement.

Anyone have experience with delta sturgeon? Any stories of catching those bad boys? I looked up where I was online, and saw that sturgeon pass through that area this time of year and can be caught on just about anything along the bottom... nightcrawlers, roe, kinda whatever.

I have a couple rods/reels that are capable of handling one, so I'm thinking of heading back out there soon and tying my kayak off right on the concrete pillar and throwing a line into the slack water of the deep channel. Never caught a sturgeon, and could always hook a striper or catfish if a sturgeon doesn't hit.

I’d 1000% join you but I picked up a nasty cold last night. Probably not going anywhere this whole weekend. Good luck out there though. Post up if you get anything decent!

I did see him briefly over the weekend too..... I guess that explains it. Damnit!

Also...you need to buy his minivan before I do. It’s looking like pure sex now with the new LT kit installed.

Similar powertrain on the GX. Was surprised when I put 34" tires on it... thought it would be a dog with the heavy wildpeaks and SCS wheel combination.... nada. Still kicks rocks like a baddie.

I saw this recently and thought it was kinda cool.... coming from someone who has had to fiddle f#ck with getting rods in my cars/trucks since I can remember(and keeping them safe after the fact), this would be nice to have:

Been kickin the idea of scs wheels. Would be alot lighter than my steel wheels. Gain a little pep back. But i wont....

My steel wheels are all bent to shit. Would aluminum handle the beatings?

They’ll hold up just fine.... and look good doing it. Can’t tell you how many people have asked about them or said; “love those wheels” while I’m pumping gas or something. Price is the only part that probably strays away most folks.... might be better to stick with the steel wheel life if you wheel hard and often give no fucks when on the trail.
