Weather looks good tomorrow. My wife wants to work some OT tomorrow to clear out some paperwork. HALLPASS!

I’m gonna dropshot a sunken car in a local lake. It’s in 15 feet of water. I think the bass will be there. If not, bigger dropshot weight and I’m paddling to the deep weedy parts. I’ll get in some water-time before the utility company;s threatened power shutoff at 1:00pm. I dint see the wind that’s threatened them. Hmmm.

I got after them! Boated a 20” LMB. then broke off one equally as huge (but way fatter) alongside the boat. I forgot my net! Then lost a (approx) 5 lb fish when he cane way out of the water.

caught lots of dinks. But today I hooked into 3 big for me fish.

Camped/fished Pardee reservoir this morning. First time ever going so I wasn’t expecting much. Cold and windy as balls which I was kind of expecting based off the weather forecast.

    only got one largemouth:

Yeah it’s def going to be a hit or miss weekend. Not sure what I’m going to do yet. Delta always seems to be the juice for me but getting a little tired of the same ole scenery.

Could you park at one of those marinas and launch like normal? Ive never been over there so not sure what that area even looks like.

a marina offered me $5 launch fee. but i've pulled my kayak up on a dock before. it isnt pleasant. i have to unload it completely..ahh. it isnt that bad. i might do a driveby and check out the area and talk to the marina lady.

This is one reason why I am afraid to upgrade my kayak into a more legitimate, premium fishing kayak. My current kayak weighs something like 50 lbs max so I can carry it wherever I want and can put in at random, sometimes awkward areas. I sacrifice some stability and comfort, but being able to pull over anywhere and drop the kayak into a body of water is nice. Right now I'm in the mindset of; "hey if a good deal comes around on something nice, Ill take it."

I bought a 1st gen Tundra a couple of weeks ago too so now I have a bed I can load the kayak in and out of. No more rooftop loading on the Lexus.

Did you score that sweet, low mileage first gen from over in San Jose area a few weeks ago?
I have a third gen Tacoma buy that one was very tempting

Nope wasn’t me! I scooped up a cheap 4x4 tundra from a dude near Sebastopol. It is definitely a project truck that needs some suspension work and whatnot, but nothing I can’t handle. It was a bit of an impulse buy (always wanted one) when the guy agreed to the price I offered.

I plan on it being just my fishing/haul shit around truck for now. If I end up keeping it long-term, will likely get a topper for the back and will build it a little more for camping (be nice to be able to sleep enclosed in the bed).

Had a horrible webex meeting. Bunch of senseless yammering. Had a Mild headache from it. Had that nagging feeling about the last trip where I forgot my camera and my landing net. Made total sense to go fishing at lunch and not go back to work.

well, I didn’t get skunked. First cast! My new PB. I’d guess 3lb. The best part? I caught five of his big friends too! All about 2.5 lb clones of each other. I lost count of the dinks. And I never snagged and lost a rig!!

I broight my net and my camera!
