That looks fun! I can't imagine all the surprises you have seen over the time you have done that. From big/small fish, to random species you probably get from time to time. lol

headed out to Berryessa again Friday. paddle off the added gravy fat that will be flowing in my veins.

will try a new launch point. Putah!! i will need to buy a structure spoon today..and maybe a bigger dropshot hook. looking for the big bait balls again.

i am half tempted to try sinking a Senko down deep. add a worm nail to sink it down faster.

Think you're good, unless you can't resist the temptation of crossing the buoy line.

It's also pretty rare that its spilling over. Maybe with last weeks rain, but I wouldn't bet on it. I'm also curious how much fire damage you may have observed in the area. Keep us posted and have fun out there.

20-30.feet. i found some at 60, and that is where some kayakers were killing them.

there is this super slow current at the spot i was at last sat. i would cast a dropshot let it hit bottom and let the current pull my boat, dragging the dropshot. pretty effective. if there were more fish where i was, i would have killed them. i caught the few i saw on my finder.

i think that same thing would work for a gently weighted wackey senko. but it would be like watching paint dry, until one hit.

Dang that does sound effective. I really need to get a fish finder for my kayak. During the warm months I don’t really need a finder since you can predict where they are gonna be stacked up, but during the winter months it’s like finding a needle in a haystack without a finder. I have my ice fishing units.... but they don’t work well in open water. Sucks. May try it anyways next time I go out. See if I can mark anything.

i was blown away how fast that lake dropped off. like 50 feet from the launch it was 27 feet deep.

i asked for a new fish finder for Christmas. i havent been that good this year, so the jury is out. :) i might have a feebie coming up.

Yeah it’s a super deep lake. I guess that’s why the trout/salmon fishing is so good out there too. Crazy how deep it is. Oh shoot yeah let me know! I’d be game taking the old one off your hands if you upgrade!

It does and hasn’t been flowing since end of last winter for a day.
I’ll be out on berry this week and weekend as well. Keep loose hips ;)
