Was busy most of last week and last weekend, but this week I made it out to one of the delta soughs and the Russian River.

Delta slough fishing: Didn't do as well as I normally do (I blame the moon and wacky tide schedule that day). As the temps start dropping even more, will be curious how much the fish patterns continue to change.

-12-13 fish caught (mixed bag of largemouth, spotted, and meanmouth hybrids), but an abnormally ridiculous amount of reaction bites (again, blame the elements for this).

-Ned rig continues to be killer and all fish caught were on a ned rig with a craw plastic. Most fish were caught in 20-25 feet of water right off the bottom.

Russian River: Water is getting cold as fuck, but was still able to wade it with tennis shoes and shorts today. The salmon/steelhead run is happening full throttle at this point but went today for smallmouth and pikeminnow only.

-3 to 4 pikeminnow caught with a couple others that came off before I could land them. No bass unfortunately.

-Mepps spinner in gold was the lure of choice today. Tried a couple other bass baits, but nothing would eat those.

As I was standing on a shallow sandbar overtop of a deep hole, I watched a nice-sized salmon swim by.... might have to go back out there soon with the appropriate gear and try for a fat steelhead.

A few quick screenshots from the GoPro footage from the delta and Russian:

Yeah that was where we got stuck at a negative low tide at night on the sandbar In thick fog. The violent incoming tide threw us around like a rag dog. Felt like we were continually being hit by a car. I’m still really bruised up. But we’re here so only can complain so much.

. My dad saved an old man in his 70s and his dog a month ago. 12ft boat capsize. I want to say the dog panic and fell into the water. It was also really rough and windy. I rather just launch from bodega and head south. Takes about 10min-15min to hit bird rock. I've seen a lot boats get sandbar all the time when I camped at lawson landing.

This was 100% my wife’s uncles fault. He was following me back in at dusk and was right behind me. I beached my boat to get my trailer and pulled mine out. Backed his Jeep in to grab his boat and he was nowhere to be found. 15 min later called me in a panic.

Caught a dink (probably a pound) and my buddy snagged this shad by its belly when burning a LV through a bait ball. We’ll see how Clearlake treats us next weekend.

FYI Sportsman’s Warehouse has the Daiwa Crossfire 2500 on sale for $15 (usually $30-$40) in case anyone is looking to add another reel to their arsenal or is a gear junkie like me. Have heard great things about these too.

Anyone splurging on deals this weekend? TackleWarehouse is 20% off almost everything. Mandatory last-minute truck parts ended up sucking up most of my holiday spending otherwise I’d be getting a few goodies.

Damn! You went all in! Awesome though... I’m jealous. Curious how the inception holds up. I’ve watched 13 fishing closely ever since they are started blowing up these last few years, but still haven’t pulled the trigger on any of their products for some reason.

Yeah, I'm interested to see how it holds up as well. I haven't really heard anything bad about 13 Fishing so we'll see.
