You should go! It's nice fishing the lakes and shit this time of year because of the lack of other boats and jet skis on the water. I bank fished Lake Sonoma last Sunday and only one boat passed by my immediate area the entire time I was out there. Super nice. lol

Ha! Yeah I have been there. Now I second-check my lists before I hit "submit order." Every time I order though I do it from TW and spend at least the $50 so I get free shipping. If I forget something, I wait until my next big order. lol

yea..i have a big trout looking thing coming. i saw this video and was.."that would work at Berryessa!!" it is the least expensive option of trying out big swimbaits. (i'm looking at you Huddleston!)

btw.. my wife has a wine tasting thing with all her vaccinated co-workers this saturday.

i am gonna throw a dart (at a map) and try to hit a lake on Saturday. i'm thinking Berryessa..even the fishing report out of Clearlake doesnt suck completely. maybe do the marathon paddle to "the cove" at L sonoma

You can use one of mine for a bit next time we go out.. see if you like it. Took me a good month of trying it out to get down the right A-rig terminal tackle and swimbaits down.

Lucas,..you and your wife are totally welcome to join..i will have to blindfold you to my secret beach. jk

My craziest fishing trip ever. Got to my secret lake early. Met a few buds.

zero action. I tied on a wacky worm and casted. My worm flew and intercepted a landing goose with the precision of a Tomahawk missile strike. The bird felt the line and took to the air. It was flying great until I realized my bail was open. Click! Tension! The bird hit the water. The racket was spectacular. It was honking in fear. It brought in 8 of its friends. Reeling in a goose is damn near impossible. They are strong! I’d get it to my kayak and it would blast off. It was writhing on getting twisted up in the line. My friends paddled in and they grabbed the bird. Snip snip snip, and the hook was pulled out.
The bird flew off unharmed. It was nuts! Very nuts.
Oh, I caught a fish too.

Fished Lake Sonoma on Sunday. Ended up with a few fish. Water is still chilly chilly chilly, but with the weather we have had lately, the spring bite is likely right around the corner.

The inland desert region just got some new trout regulations for the upcoming season. My season now starts March 1st. Except for the tourist lakes. Those get the regular Fishmas start. Stoked.

shit you not: I had a dream last night that I was throwing an A-rig for rockfish. But you can only have 2 hooks for rockfish, so i had willow leaf blades on some branches and 2 big 8" white swimbaits on the12oz jigheads. can you imagine working that a rig?

Sounds doable to me! You should try it . Speaking of the Arig though, I sorta kinda threw my arm out a bit last weekend throwing it from the bank for an hour or so. Felt it the most a couple of days later. As much as it’s effective from time to time, it can be a pain to transport and throw!

The last delta report I saw said that the bite was turning forsure this week/weekend so you may be in for some good times with the right baits.
