They all pretty much look like this one. My bud got a 4. And I got a tiny one. But most were smallish but fun.
    We lost count.

We get this storm system behind us and all bets are off.
‘Water was 53 deps yesterday. Very windy and current was ripping.

I’m searching for a few launch spots closer to some CRAZY bedding areas we found yesterday’s. Tules poking out of the water, logs, rip rap, sandy bottom with big patches of grass and weeds. But I bet the boats hammer that spot.

Interesting Sunday at Lake Sonoma. I really wasn’t even planning on going out as it was raining/cold and I had been driving a TON the day before so I didn’t feel like doing jack shit.

Unfortunately I have a bad fishing addiction that eats me alive..... so there I was.... lake Sonoma boat ramp at about 10 am. Put the kayak in the water, made sure I had all my important stuff tied down, and off I paddled.

The first hour was sloooooww. Threw a ned rig, swimbait, drop-shot, jerkbait, etc etc. Nothing.

After the first hour, the rain died off and the sun peeked out from the clouds. That’s when the bite picked up too. Ended up getting them on the jerkbait, ned rig, and a jig.

Smallmouth bass were running the show were I was. Ended up with around 6 decent smallmouth in total. Lost a nice one at the kayak, and had a few more bites on the bottom. Fun day!

It’s good man, and no crazy build out on this one. I’ve only been deleting the chrome and then getting a third brake light replacement/NMO mount put in today. Then the leveling kit next week.

Badass! Glad its treating you well. I've been seeing more and more of those on the road lately and I'm starting to dig 'em. Saw one the day before yesterday and was like; "shit I wonder how James is liking his....?" lol

okay. i wont bore you with a bunch of pics, and Kat' can supplement with his one images..he got a bigun!!!

but here is a sample of our outing. i was on the water 9 friggen hours and we paddled marathon mileage..i would estimate 8 miles for myself since i did the long run essentially twice after meeting up with a buddy (katchase).."let go back out there!"

i am dedicated to hiking with my wife tomorrow. i havent spent much quality time with her since that magical and fateful day my wife said, "you should buy a kayak!"

having said that, i am thinking about Yorty Creek Lake Sonoma. i heard the gate is open, but the water is wayy low off the ramp. like hundreds of yards low.

has anyone seen this first hand? i have zero issues of rolling my kayak several hundreds yards, but not SLOGGING thru a swamp to do so. is the land stable..terra firma? or is it a swamp?

i might drive up there with the wife afterwards and check it out. i will be at LAke Sonoma Sunday, if anyone else is going - chime in.

Oh. My legs are sore from hike. Despite that; I’m loaded up for lake Sonoma. Forecast show calmest wind day of the week.

Friday at my local lake I was wind swept. I was blowing around so quickly I could have trolled a lure. Tiresome skunk.

i took my kayak on a 8 mile journey yesterday. but it was worth it. i didnt skunk..i got into them actually. mostly largemouth, with the occasional smallie. i finally scratch my "i really want to catch a bass on a jig" itch!! it was exciting and i cant actually believe it worked. blew me away.
all of the fish were keepers. pretty much Stepford wives of each other. about 14" fish. the water was emerald color!! very little wind..i bet the fishing would have been better with a touch of a breeze to break up the water surface.
