Saw Greg Blanchard's latest video on the Delta..... looks like pre-spawn is right around the corner out there. Probably gonna give it a couple more weeks before making the trek out there.

Its annoying as fuck balls. Some of these lakes/rivers don't have any wind break areas either, so its nothing but wind all day. Luckily some places you can escape behind the banks and still have a decent time.

Looking alot like Lake Sonoma water to me. Favorite fishing spot in NorCal, especially Cherry Creek or deep into Warm Springs (near Old Sawmill or Buck Pasture).

I STILL haven't been able to make it up into that area yet this year. Yorty is still closed per the website, but @aficianado is hearing that its actually open but WAY low. From the main boat ramp its a tad too far (for me and my basic kayak), but I know there are some monsters up in that neck of the woods. Just from hitting Yorty last year, I was pulling out numbers and size every time I went out there.

I might need to run up there (Yorty) to lays eyes on it myself.

no way I can trudge thru mud to launch a kayak.

Yeah that would suck. Spend half the freakin' day trying to lug the kayak through that stuff. Just from the photo you sent me... eeek. Walking up and down the boat ramp looks like a cake walk compared to Yorty. Lol

I just checked and it says it is closed. You would be better off going to main ramp and going into Warm Springs arm. About a 4 mile paddle RT, about 2/3rds in No Wake Zones.

i panicked. my wifed asked if i wanted to go hiking tomorrow and i blurted out..nah. going fishing. not all that fun, with a bunch of nurses talking nurse stories.

high tides at the Delta is around 11:30am. i think i found a decent spot on G.E. and i will take a leisure day to get up there to see if the bass will pick up what i am putting down. WTH. bare minimum i gather just that much more intel about the Delta.

fish finder battery is charged..red crank, crayfish red chatter..and jigs..and worm.

Took my brothers to Lake Sonoma yesterday..... was a fairly slow day overall. My brothers skunked and I ended up with 6 bass - 1 largie and 5 smallmouth. The bite picked up as evening was approaching, but as the bite was getting hot, we had to paddle back so my brothers could drive back to sactown.

Finesse jig was KILLER. Popped it off the banks and got clobbered a foot from shore. Hard to beat a jig bite honestly. The smallies were aggressive too.... which is no surprise. They’d pick up the jig and be 5-6 feet away with it before I noticed and set the hook.

Also... total side note, but if you’re in the north bay/Santa Rosa area, outdoor pro shop in Rohnert Park/Cotati is AWESOME. Finally went there for the first time late last week and was blown away by the shit they have. Definitely won’t be needing to order much from TackleWarehouse anymore.

Definitely gonna check it out. I was never a big fan of Sportsman's Warehouse (we have one here in Rohnert Park) for fishing gear, and now that they are owned by Bass Pro, I suspect they won't get any better. This outdoor pro shop will be the juice for me moving forward.

i am on a first name basis with the Cotati store. i even asked about a part time job there!! haha. i bet i would have gotten it, but it would have eaten into my fishing time.

i cannot figure out how the guys that work there all own bass boats!! some do have kayaks. even a $5000 kayak would be a stretch..

my vacation is about to start, and i need to stock up for the copious amount of time i plan on being on the water. my wish list at TW is embarrassing.

this past weekend, i checked another Delta location. i was fairly succesful by not being skunked. most kayakers there were rocking the big goose-egg. two brothers in Prams (is that what they are called?) were talking to me, complaining of the lack of action when a decent bass sucked in my bait offering and took a jump right near them. it was fun. i am going to keep trying new bodies of water, and new locations till it all falls into place. playing the odds, the more time i fish, the more it might happen for me big time.

Yep 100 percent on the money. Same for me. Nice place to kill an hour, but that's it (for me).
