Honestly REI has the best tents for decent prices. You can go w/ a $50 walmart special but it'll last you 1-2 trips before it's junk. I've owned 2 different REI tents and camped in them for years with no issues. Plus if you're a member you get dividends!

My two suggestions for solid 2 man tents

And if that's too steep for ya...

    noobs, stick to quality tents...

I picked up my last tent, a nice mountain hardware in awesome shape for cheap on CL.

My other tent, a north face, I bought new 9 years ago, it's still in awesome shape and I've used the hell out of it.

They're worth it, oh and no trying to roll em up and stuff em into a shitty zip up bag, that's worth it alone.

When they came out they were know for leaking and at the time Coleman didn't make a fly for the 6 person model (they might now due to the feedback they got) which is the one I was interested in. I'm not willing to shack up in a tent that could/might fail when I'm out and about. And for the price of them you can get a bomber setup that might take a few more minutes to setup but won't let you down. My $.02

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
You better move those lower lights on your front bumper Keek. You will rip them off on this trail.

Haha if it was only me I'd probably do that because I don't care as much. Hoping to get this girl I met to go camping with me :p

I'm buying a nice tent tonight and should have everything I need to camp out friday night if I'm able. Anything I should help bring food wise? I can provide food for myself but don't mind bringing extra stuff to help out. Speaking of, who drew the short straw and is picking up the king egg rolls :D?

Haha I don't know if the egg rolls will stay crunchy for that long, but please don't let that stop anyone from getting any :D.

It's up to you on you want to bring. I'm bringing a grill and probably some chicken. I'll also take care of plates, silverware, napkins etc. For those people that want to put in, maybe contribute something for breakfast or lunch?

Folks - post up what you can contribute food-wise, or if you'll be doing your own thing for food. That way I'll have a good idea on how much food to bring.
