    Hi guys,

    I've notice my VSC goes off with the after market wheel. I've called a few dealers Santa Rosa and Ukiah and they say they can't do the zero-point calibration because of after market lift and wheels I have on my truck. I've been turning off my VSC, but have you guys run into this problem with VSC? Also if you know of any dealers in the bay area or even Sacramento that would do it, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

    I had a guy do the zero point calibration on my 4runner in 5 minutes. It's easy. Any mechanic with a good ODB II can diagnose and calibrate it for you pretty quick

    Rusty's truck WAS fully identical to mine. He blacked out the entire top half of his truck though, so not anymore :) Still the same wheels and body though.

    I have the same problem. I printed out the directions and took it to the dealership. Toyota told me they cant do it for the same reasons you listed (lift/Wheels). I have yet to try it myself, perhaps soon.

    the paperclip is the SST..

    sst = special service tool.

    special service tool = any tool that's not normally sold at o'reilly's, autozone, etc.

    meaning you could just make the tool out of scrap metal or something as simple as a paperclip.

    just follow the directions and short the two contacts when directed to do so.

    Got the new 211 up and running. Heres a couple of my real amateur welds. Still way better than I was doing with the old 120V machine.

    That's bullcrap. The lift doesn't matter.

    I know this because I had the dealer reset mine.

    I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
    Try filling a joint laying beads on just a flat piece of steel is not going to look the greatest anyway. Even a lap joint or a T to start with would be good. Then start running 180's on round tube :cool:

    I have people in Sacto area that are real good with scan tools. Garys Air Bag Service, they are knowledgeable about resetting lights. Might have to drive to met them. PM me and I will get their phone number for you.

    Tell them to send you the denial of service in a email, or on paper. Well, demand it and see what they say. Or, hold up your phone and ask "Can you say that again?"
