Not sure what you did, my number is smaller and I have bigger tires.. lol

Anywho, I don't really like that tire size calculator app for this purpose, probably the reason why everyone thinks they're getting bad gas mileage. It claims my correction factor is only 5%... which is wrong. Probably my speed was calibrated for different smaller tires than 265s??

    Do it right:

Go on a long drive, find a GPS app on your phone to track your distance traveled. Compare that number with what your odometer says you've traveled. Create a correction factor and figure that into your miles every time you fill up. Mine was around 10 miles off for every hundred, so it made the math easy, if I filled up at 200 miles on the trip guage, add 20, 220 miles divided by my gallons.

On a side note, odometers being off right from the factory erks me.... basically you're loosing up to 10K miles of warranty from it if your tires are smaller than calibrated for. For us who get bigger tires, we're gaining extra mileage for our warranties! My odometer says 125K, but realistically I'd probably traveled more than 135K!

I had 3º shims in there too and they were too short with those and the AAL. Had to pull the shims out and the stock ones were just long enough. I should have ordered a flip kit any way. Its all done but man what a PITA, took most of sunday to finish.

    Alignment and tires are next.

I'm not aware of any vehicle with an odo that's off from the factory to where it racks up more miles than actual. They'll either be accurate or play in your favor. Last automaker that had their odo racking up more miles than actual got nailed for it in a lawsuit (Honda).

Now you are :). When I went against the GPS, the odometer was faster than the mileage by a couple every hundred.

Seemed pretty common in the threads I've seen where people compare GPS to odo. I know for a fact mine was off at stock size though and would explain why I've gotten upwards of 22mpg before

Up here, odo is probably far more accurate. GPS can be off by 5-10% due to mountains, lack of satellite locks, etc. I'll take the known issues with odometers set with new tire tread of stock brand (knowing all brands are diff) for my MPG calculations. In the end, buying a non-OEIM tire can extend your warranty (as you noted too). So let's hope they stick with tire revolutions over GPS.

Safer to have no cage than an exo-cage like that for pre-running.

I would just like to thank you for this recommendation. I went up to big Basin last weekend and it was a great place! A little cold, but that'd to be expected this time of the year. Myself, as well as my dogs had a blast. Thanks!!!

Lol wasn't trying to be a smartass. Last time I was at your house...like a year ago or something, you said you were looking into getting one. Curious to see if you started looking or anything yet.

Your arms gonna get tired nowadays. I quit waving at them a couple of years ago, unless they wave first.
