    Spindles are pretty expensive.

The least expensive 'decent' KISS lift option is generally considered to be bilstein 5100s set at 2.5" in the front along with bilstein shocks in the rear and an "add a leaf" to provide lift in the rear.

This isn't much more expensive than spacers and blocks, but the 5100s have a larger oil capacity and are valved a little better than stock shocks for a lifted truck.

Set at 2.5 you can still get a good alignment without needing to add UCAs, and (for 4x4 trucks, which isn't an issue here obviously) there's less concern about overextending the front CVs.

EDIT - if you're going to be hard on your truck and run it fast off road - in addition to doing that, I'd space out the front bump stops so that when the truck bottoms out the front, it does so against the bumpstop instead of the 5100 shock, which just like any other shock or coilover isn't designed to take the extreme load of bottoming out, and will break if you abuse it hard enough.

There is no going about it. It is and has been a horrible fire season.

People are going to start making jokes about the drought, and it's all going to be dry humour.

Haha, my coworker was talking about them yesterday so I started looking for them for him and found that one. I think I'll seriously be able to pick up a 1st gen 4runner by summer, so my real build will start then.

DIY! Lol just kidding no help there I know.

    Hit up Jerry at BAMF
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/bay-area-metal-fabrication/

He has the plates already cut to weld in. He'll also do it for ya in about 10 minutes!

Otherwise I'd run over to Yodaman off Standish ave in Santa Rosa.

Those guys could certainly get it done, but I doubt they have the plates already cut and ready to go in...

    Looks like my friends truck.

You guys think #650 spring rate is fine for the heavy v8?

I just cranked more to regain height. It has settled a bit. I know i bought these used but barely.

#650 should be fine since you don't have a aftermarket bumper and winch. The V8 shouldn't be that much heavier than the V6.

wonder if these springs are just short then. Because i'm extremely cranked. I have good travel and rides great but its just cranked to hell. It seems like i recently cranked to get to 39.5" and now i had to crank again to get back to 39.5

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.

That looks like John's FJ :notsure: if that's a dent in the rear panel behind the rear door it's his.
