Yes. One of the symptoms of needing to bleed the ABS is a soft pedal after bleeding the brakes. As I mentioned, I did flush the brakes using a Motiv bleeder and that didn't solve the problem. Mine is a 2009. Not sure what anything newer than that is but the 'normal' procedure is to bleed using either a helper to pump the brakes or to use the Motiv bleeder tool.

The Toyota TIS software cycles the ABS pump and directs you to open valves as it opens the circuits through the pump.

You got me with the soft pedal. But then I've never liked the feel of the Taco brakes. So you were able to bleed the rears without turning the key on?

With the Motive, you basically fill the thing with fluid, attach it to the MC, pump it up, and bleed starting at the farthest wheel and working to the nearest. The Motive forces fluid through the lines. There's no pumping the pedal. Again, this method is just like the manual method except instead of pumping the pedal, the pressure of the bleeder does the job.

HF would probably work for you, I've used them and they work well. Most name brands are good as well. I prefer the slim Bosch grinders.

Stupid question, did you bleed the bpv?

I got the BAFX3127 seems to do decent, the other ones all seemed to be hit or miss.

I have a Bosch as well as the HF. About the only difference is the speed control and trigger. HF units switch on/off. No fancy trigger ;)

    2g's don't have a brake proportioning valve.

    Thanks for the tip.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
I have had a 7" grinder from HF for three years it just wont die. We use the piss out of it. i have a lot of the small 4.5" ones they work well the brushes just go fast but with a one year warranty added you cant beat the price. I can buy 5 for the price of one Dewalt and i get my money worth for sure. I have Flex gringers for my SS work those bad boys are almost 300 each!! other then that the HF grinders are not bad just get the red ones not the black or blue. There is some crap for sure at HF but some gems i have a step bit that ive had for years thats used all the time and it only has one step thats dull and that was my fault.

I've been putting some serious thought into selling the 3rd Gen 4runner and picking up a 4th gen, preferably one with the 4.7. Want a little more room, some more power and never thought I'd say it but I wouldn't mind having an auto. Won't be happening now but possibly this year. Thoughts?

My only real reason for the Bosch is I like how slim they are, much easier on the hands for extended work. But my HF one works just as well.

I don't use my Bluetooth one much if you'd want to borrow it to test out to see if it works.

I'd do it if I had the cash. I love my 3rd gen, but the power is lacking (even with a supercharger) and it's not the most comfortable vehicle. My parents have a 03 V6 and it's really nice even being a SR5 only. Plus you could tow your truck with the V8.

lol, it works for my little projects. If I was hardcore like you I would get something better seeing as I would use it almost everyday. My buddy who is a welder said the same thing, "that grinder sucks". lol
