Pic of the lock?

 

Had a bike stolen. Reg was in it. It's a huge worry-I don't keep registration on anything anymore. I try to not leave stuff with addresses in the truck either.

 

such a big slot, really easy to pick.

 

I'd replace it just for peace of mind

 

No clue what kind it is, I'm sure someone on here will know.

 

Even tho the end of the door goes into the slot like 3/8"-1/2"? Oh well good to know I guess lol..

 

One thing you should do regardless of whether you re-key is to get a couple of rods that you can place in the door tracks. This prevents the door from being opened. You can also buy a lock that mounts on the back of the opening part of the door. It has a pin that slides down into the frame-you drill a hole in the frame. Which means you can add a hole to secure the door (loosely) in the open position.

Rods in all sliding windows/doors does a lot to prevent someone from prying the door open. They don't need to be fancy, dowel works.

 

I have some 2x4s laying around that I'll use. Never heard of a lock like that, have a link to one by chance?
