I would ride it out. It was a $25 fix it ticket. To me it was worth having tint for a year and a half b4 getting stopped. Not worth removing if it's only $25.

 

Oh its only $25?? Dang I thought it would be $100+ like it is here. Technically mine is illegal here but no cop enforces it unless you are speeding like crazy. Hell ill just keep it then.

 

Just stay away from Roseville CA. They are on high horses. Well at least most of them. I've been followed for multiple miles by them. It seems like they just toy with you. I've been talked to at stop lights about no front plate but not pulled over.

 

1st offense is $25 fixit. After that I don't know what the fine is. I'm sure it gets steep real quick.

 

Nope, its illegal...if the cop "feels like being super cop and doing his job" he will get u....I have had good luck in the truck, not in my lowered civic..my wife did get pulled over in the truck a few weeks ago, she said the cop was hesitant to give her the citation

 

It's $25(court fees) if you prove you got it removed. Otherwise, the fine is $190ish if you don't get it removed and just want to pay

Im thinking ill just keep it on and pray for the best, if (when) it happens then ill get it removed.

 

I had 35% mirrored tint on my front windows and I got pulled over because it was Mirrored... Is 35% legal?

 

Got out of a light ticket once, Super cop wanted to fine me for having to many exposed lights (when i had LEDs and hella HIDs) but I was like "WAIT I HAVE THE COVERS" told him i just got back from offroading and forgot to put them back on...first time I'd put them on since I installed them LOL. took em off like an hour later. Was the only time I'd ever had a cop mention them and I've had a couple check my truck out enough to get neck strain lol

Pretty sure anything on the front windows is illegal. Basically from what I hear, its officer discretion, but if he can't immediately make out your face from the tint, he will fine. ((usually, that's from my bro in law the cop in Sac lol))

 

In CA front windows have to have 70% VLT. or 30% tint. if they changed it, idk why you guys are saying no tint. I've got buddies who are officers and my degree is CRJ. Never had any issues on any of my cars/trucks at 20-30% tint.

 

Sorry I meant windshield when i said front window...you're right about 30% on front windows...but windshield can only have the top strip.

 

Also front windows can not be reflective

Lazy dealerships may try get away with saying they can't replicate the issue so there's nothing wrong. they're less likely to try get away with something when dealing with an informed customer, so I'd tell them the issue, that its a known issue and what you want them to do about it
