Thanks guys. I'm shopping for tires for my FZJ80 and my funds are tied up in three different vehicles, so trying to get a feel for the most affordable AT/MT option. Now to research some more....

 

Can someone do me a favor and check how high the oem rear shock towers are in relation to the frame? I'm thinking either level or within an inch or two

I need your opinions... Im looking at the 4x innovations HC rear bumper but cant decide if I want a single or dual jerry can mount.. Has anyone ever actually needed to use 2 jerry cans/5 gallon rotopaxs? Or should I forget jerry can mounts completely? I already have jerry cans so thats why i don't want to go with rotopax mounts. Im doing a big trip this summer that is 110 miles each way off road between towns but not sure ill need 2 jerry cans.

Just water. You should be fine at 110 mile s on gas. Its nice to have but I'm thinking you will be fine. I'm no expert thought, I have never done 110 miles off road.

 

Im sure ill be fine, I figured at worst ill average 12mpg which gives me a range of about 200 miles before my gas light comes on (never gotten below 15mpg when wheeling though), at the end of the trail there is a small town with a few gas stations that we will fill up at. But yes I agree a good spot to put water. My dad and I are going to make our own road shower like the one Defconbrix got and im pretty sure Nick got one.

Doing the Magruder corridor and Lolo motorway in central Idaho, should be really fun if anyone wants to come up and join!
