Damn that would suck! You could make it a whole day without a scratch wheeling and simply forgetting to press that little button costs 9k. Bummer

 

Does it give you any sort of audible warning that you are approaching the self destruct angle?

 

The owners manual doesn't mention anything about one and I hope to never learn from expirience.

 

I try and remember to shut the thing off.

But then I stop the rig get out, get back in, and sometimes forget to press.

 

The other thing when wheeling - it's handy to have a big old binder clip in easy reach of the driver seat, so that if you stop the truck on an angle to get out, you clip the seatbelt where it is so it can't retract. On a sufficient incline, if it retracts the ratchet will be locked and you won't be able to pull it out and put it back on again.

Maybe. Not sure that'll be strong enough. Binder clips are pretty SPROING.

 

These are pretty strong too. They interlock so they get a good bite.

I spotted a nice '12 White Double Cab with some eye candy red Baja coilover and struts in the front, along with Bilstein 5160 and an All-Pro leaf pack in the back at Orinda Bart Station today! Thanks Dennis (808) for hooking me up today and getting me closer to finishing my own build!

 

Thanks we are actually foster parents essentially as they are going to live at my mother in laws place when they are old enough.

 

Super late notice but a couple 4Runner guys decided to head up to Slick Rock this upcoming weekend June 6-7 if anyone wants to join. We'll be wheeling all day Sat and heading home Sunday.
