Recently moved to the peninsula (Brisbane) from Arizona. I'm driving a 97 4 banger with 220k. Any meet ups / shows in the area?

i do enjoy being right in between everything. Although the prices are insane to live here long term. I dont plan to leave but it would be nice to be able to save more because of less taxes elsewhere.

It would be nice to save some more money, but it's just an economic fact of supply and demand. People have a demand to live in this state, the state/local governments control the taxes on supply, and property values reflect the high demand for limited supply. Can't do much about that in a capitalist society

I'm "established" here as well. But there's only so much bullshit I can put up with. I don't live to have the shit taxed out of me, over-regulated, and told what's best for me.

I might be a little extreme on that but I for the lost part leave people alone and want to be left alone as well. If it weren't for the scenery and 4 seasons, I wouldn't live here.

That's probably because you pay along the way. If you don't pay, the govt will limit you. Don't pay car registration, or income taxes, or property tax and anything else that involves a fee or tax and see what happened.

Why wouldn't I pay them? Follow the guidelines and nobody gets hurt. I don't see the issue with paying registration like I need to or taxes. Failing to see your point.

You'd like to not pay anything and keep receiving the luxury of everything?

I pay for everything... Smog checks, recycling fees( paint, tv, cans, bottles, packeges, condoms), annual long and short gun certificates, extra tax on acohol, additives in my gas, 6 dollars to cross a bridge, paying registration on a midsize truck that is considered commercial for some reason, paying to register guns that have been in my family for generations, paying crazy high property taxes even though my city has no librarys, police stations, fire stations, high schools.

Or the best one I have recently learned... We have a house in the Tahoe basin.. It's called the green belt or something...
We can't have a true wood burning stove but since we are in placer county I can register my cars there and be smog exempt...

    Go figure.....

Oh and I then can get a burn permit and have a fire outside...
