So, as long as govt keeps setting guidelines you are ok with paying and living by their rules. What do you get in return for paying all these taxes and fees? I pay a gas tax that I drive on the road for. I get it. I pay car reg and get what in return? Paying taxes and fees that benefit only a select group or purpose and not everyone is my rift.I would like to know what kind of luxury things you get for paying these taxes and fees. Cuz I don't want or need luxury anything.

No cb antennas on the house. I would have to buy a permit to do that.

Roads are a luxury. Isn't that why we all own 4x4's, that are outfitted to go where there are no roads?...

Explain to me why this wasn't in the list of California negatives?

You can have a true wood burning stove if the house has one. It's grandfathered in. But you can't put one in if it doesn't already have one.

Nice. Hence the reason why people are flooding into California and shit costs so much (to bring it back around)

Not grandfather once it's sold... The previous owner was stupid and had a A/C/Heater unit put in so that is the "main" source... Therefore the fireplace has to come out.

Yes it is...just has to be replaced with one that's on the TRPA list of approved stoves.

And what I am saying... Ours isn't complaint and has to come out.. Basically ordered by truckee...

Once is like a 250 dollar fine, 500 if we have not gotten out by the 2nd inspection. And possible Jail time on the third...

It's cool. I am going to make sure I use my permit every chance I get. :)

And what I'm saying is it just has to be REPLACED with a compliant one. You don't have to get rid of it all together.
    I give up.

Me to. But that part of the house just didn't work for a family room, so now it's mainly decorative until a cold winter rolls in again and the wife decides she wants a fire. Then I have to lug a TV and crap back into that room. Also why I hung a painting for her, over the wall TV mount over the fireplace instead of ripping it out. It's called thinking ahead.

In retrospect, I should have kept looking. This house had some great things going for it, but I didn't look into it enough. Turns out the guy was renting the place out for loke 15 years, so there's so much shit hidden and broken and so much cheap rental crap put in. It's a headache for sure.
