Norcal Spotted and BS Thread

So I realized that I am staying on McKinney-Rubicon road here in Tahoe and I can't pass up the opportunity to check the trail out. Anyone have any clue how far I could go before getting in too deep? Miller Lake? Would love to be able to drive up to a lake to swim with the family.

 

It's been a veeeeeeeery long time since I've been up there (on a mountain bike 20+ years ago), but I think you should be fairly good up to Miller with a few spots that require some basic skills. The harder stuff did not start until descending the other side, IIRC.

 

Up to the lake. Keep in mind the trail is narrow in spots and you'll probably stripe the truck.

I was just down in Rocklin today (June 28th) and saw about 8 or so Tacomas parked at a Carl's Jr. Near RC Willey off Blue Oaks and Lonetree Blvd. I noticed some of the trucks reference Bay Area Metal Fab and had a TacomaWorld.com decal.

I was going to stop in and say hi, but I was with my wife and mother-in-law out for a shopping trip.

Just wanted to give a shout out, see what members were there, and see what you guys were up to.

Looked like you had some fun today.

I think it was the Eagle Lake trip guys.

Flushed out my power steering fluid. It was pretty damn gross. The noise i had, went away.

So the OME rear shock/2015 incompatibility is apparently bunk, and there are two 2015 silver DCLB 4x SR5s (no sport skewps yay) with towing packages within 10 miles at Maita and Elk Grove....

But both have Entune. Undecided on that, would rather spend that "$1265" on my own choice, but in the long run, these might be the last few 2015s that will hit local lots and fit the bill.

i would go on record saying this was OEM fluid. Also was stained on the reservoir. Not anymore with fresh ATF though lol.

 

Nasty stuff. Well, hopefully I can find the truck I want and then change everything about it.

I'm still on the fence about a manual or an automatic. I like the ease of an automatic on and offroad....but manuals are so much fun too, even though harder offroad

 

If you go manual, just don't hit any traffic jams

 

Yea I really don't have any traffic on my commute due to shift work, and I'm usually on the bike anyways...I'm just worried about rock crawling and such being a bitch with a manual
