For an $80 savings on registration I could use a quarter more often. :D

I hate our meters. A quarter gets you 8 minutes. Gotta have a cupful of change to park. I think it's a conspiracy to get you to overpay on your credit card with the new smart meters :tinfoilhat:

There is a way to do it. Try doing some research on it. Call a few different people at DMV. I know a few people that got there's changed but I don't remember how they did it. I think there's a form and inspection process.

Just an inspection and they will fill a form out with inspection notes and sign off on it to be submitted with registration.

I will try another DMV locally but if anybody has done it, I'd be interested to hear how and where you went.

Only time I've seen it done is with a camper in the bed, not just a shell.

We were supposed to go to pleasant valley but nobody to watch the dogs... the rhodesian/pit mix doesn't play well with other dogs

Every trip up and back for the last 3 years has taken 5 hours, so.. I'm expecting shitty traffic and a 5 hour drive. Hopefully going up Saturday AM and returning Monday helps a little. One year I got stuck with all the hippies coming back from burning man, worst drive ever.

I actually have been avoiding Tahoe for about the last couple decades. We prefer going up MET to Carson Pass/Hope Valley area, or further out and down 395 if going for a few days. Watching the weekend traffic on 80 is just...tragic.
