I don't know how you do it. My tundra is almost too big to just drive around town. Although it is so much more comfortable than my 4Runner and a ton more space.

Jimmy I'd get a 4x4 because once you have a kid the back seat in your Tacoma won't work anymore. You'll want the hassle free DD 4x4 to take on trips. Nothing worse than not being about to go snowboarding and such because your truck needs work or uncomfortable to drive. I loved my 3rd gen but would want more room. A 4th gen is slightly better room wise and will offer a much smoother ride (most people compare it to a car, not a truck).

I went with a truck because my wife has a suv and we didn't need two in the family, otherwise I would have gotten another suv. Since you have a bed already it's really nice to have the extra space in the cab for all the kids crap at easy access. Also a truck would have to have a camper shell since you're not going to want to leave a stroller or bag in the bed out in the open.

The 3rd Gen is a monster much larger then yours and I don't feel it's too big. Maybe rolling around on a SAS Tacoma on 37's for almost three years prepped me for it but I don't feel its too big to drive around and I drive out into the City all the time for work.

Yeah I love the look and power of a 3rd gen but would never be able to own one as a DD. This is my first "big" truck as I've only owned 4runners, a corrola and ext cab 99 taco. It has taken some getting used to but no way I'd drive it to the city. You're a brave man haha

I got rid of my Tacoma for one... I don't miss it one bit... Also it's Technically full time 4wd. Not AWD... :)

the TW stigma is coming out strong within you all here. ZOMG DCSB4x4 or die!!!!!!

I survived just with a 2wd truck and wheeled it everywhere. If you know how to drive, you'll be fine. Its a daily, not a snow rig.

Back when I worked at Hummer, we used to deliver H1 to the city... People would stay away as well... Those things were sooo fun to drive.
