Doubt anyone would be looking for them, but I've got a front 3.90 clamshell that's out if my 4runner. @bayareataco hooked it up with his old one for free so if anyone happens to need this I'll pay it forward.

 

Anyone know how to find the part number for the c-clip that hold the cv axle in the diff?

 

I drove home last night in the snow storm from tahoe. Even ran the beginning of eagle lakes cuz I was bored sitting in traffic. The wifes new jeep did great in the snow.

 

Did you break it when pressing out the shaft!!

 

I broke the one inside the axle into a million pieces but its the same as the one that holds it in the diff.

 

Darn. I was up in truckee. Came home yesterday morning, before all the Yahoos got on 80. Took me like 3 hours to get home

 

ok, going to try to tackle my hubs and one CV replacement. I have my 35mm socket already and all the tools ill need. Any tips/tricks to make this faster?

I already plan to break the cv nut free before i remove caliper to help momentum. Anything else? Ive taken my suspension off hundreds of times so thats not an issue. Never done the hubs on this yet.

have that, so it seems like i should just expect a tough time removing the CV nuts and the hub bolts because i've never had them done before. Seems straight forward and easy.

 

No it won't be tough, impact takes the big but right off, keeping the rotor on and the brakes on will help, the 4 17mm bolts for the hub, give the wrench a lol tap to break loose and they come right off, I did my hubs at 110k from factory, wasn't hard

 

sweet and if this doesnt solve my vibration im buying a pack of matches.

 

You can actually get the matches for free at any gas station. Lol

 

Have you looked at the inbound end of your cv's?

 

im replacing one completely because its in bad shape.

 

To save you the trouble of finding matches, I will pick up your runner and dispose of it for you.
