I had a 1973 FJ40 but sold it recently. It was in dire need of restoration and so I sacrificed it to build my 80. I have another baby on the way... A son who is due any day now.

LOL Nice Lexus. No lift huh? What is you're user name on IH8MUD? Is it the same as TWF? I'm fairly new to the 80 series. Was thinking of putting a OME 3" lift and 33's

Suspension is stock with a 1 inch spacer in the front to level the 80 out. I have the same SN there as well. A OME 3" lift and 33"s would work, even 35"s. Depending on your needs, it would dictate which springs to go with. I will be going with the heavy springs 850/863. For shocks I may go with FOX IFP as a friend with a 80 swears by them. I'm on 295/75/16 Hankook MT's. Going uphill you will notice the power loss. I believe stock gears are 4.10/11. I'm ok with it as I drive and wheel in turtle mode. Off road, put it in low and 3xlock it up and let the truck do the work.

Thanks for the information. My 80 also has the 1" spacer leveling kit installed. I wasn't sure I'd be able to fit 33s under it without at lease a 2" lift installed. Do you know George at Valley Hybrids by chance?

I know of George but have not met him personally. I do know that in the Cruiser community he is a well known, reputable guy/shop.

I thought that was you bombing down 80 yesterday. You flew around me and I couldn't keep up from there. I was coming from 5 days in the desert fully loaded. Weird that we have never met but I recognize your truck.

Georg is AWESOME. Met him at the FJ45 run this summer. He just did a major overhaul on my 62. Full OME suspension, knuckle rebuild, tie rods, brake discs, pads, drums, lines all new. He spent a few weeks with my rig, finding and fixing little odds and ends I had no idea I needed done. He would send daily text pictures of what was being worked on. Truck came back running better than new. His customer service is off the charts!

saw a lifted DCSB silver going on the bridge here in benicia. I came up next to them and went on 780.

Anyone? Nothing specific. Looked like spindles/285s.
