    Some really cool shit
Don't know, but the road from Boca Reservoir to Stampede (Hirschdale Rd exit off 80)is still open. I was there this week end and there were other trucks back into Stampede, as well as snow mobiles.

We should get a TW NorCal DV trip going for next November- no crowds or heat, 80* days & 55* nights. It was a little cold this time.

We did about 100 miles off road and probably only explored 5% of the trails. Love that place.

The wife and I have done many 4x4 trips to DV area with a bay area 4x4 club.
However, we usually stayed in nearby hotels (Beatty, Lone Pine, Ridgecrest, etc) and
did day trips. Great fun, but the club stopped organizing the run a few years ago.

Always enjoyed driving back via i395. Spectacular views of snow-capped mountains on
    both sides of the valley.

My rig (at the time) is the 4runner with the door open in this photo:

Saw this Beaut at Red Lake near Kirkwood yesterday. Who ever owns the truck, I would to thank him/her for helping me convince the wife that Plate bumpers are a good thing. She actually liked the high clearance you are sporting.
