Ffs. Both bolts holding the drive side caliper broke taking them out. And not enough to get the caliper off. Both bolts broke in the same exact place too.

    Time for a beer.

Rad. I didn't know you were a car guy. We should hold a TW car show/cruise for all of us with classics. Although by the looks of it, may be a while before yours is cruise-able!

Happened to me as well when I was doing my manual hub swap. So frustrating.

Did you drill out the bolt? I gotta dremmel off part of the bolt to get the caliper off. After that I guess I'm taking it to someone with a drill press.

Took it to someone as I needed it done right away and didn't have the right tools. Cost $10 so totally worth it to me.

    Maybe in 2017.. :pout:

It's getting a roof transplant from a 51 Styleline coupe donor because the chop job from the PO was bad. They didn't brace the body when they lopped it off either so it needs a lot of adjustment. Get it as good as we can.

Motor is in my garage being cleaned up and painted (1968 built 327 V8 originally from a 69 Camaro). Still need a transmission.

It's gonna be a lot of work but hoping to have the motor buttoned up by spring, then will work on the donor frame from the 51 and get it rolling. Then the body will be fixed on its current frame (original frame with Volare front clip) and then transferred over to the 51 frame.

    Then.. Then.. Then..

Had an M2 crossmember in hand ready for welding in but we decided in the end to keep the original suspension up front and modify it for air bags. Rear end will get a Jimenez Bros 2 link and bags - the 2 link doesn't need the floor to be cut so that's where we're going.

Barely notice that this is on there. Except when accelerating, braking, cornering, or driving in a straight line at speed. Totally worth it. image.jpg

Great way to end the season. Took my boy out for his first duck hunt.

I'll get some pics next weekend. I won't see it in the daylight until then. Leave for work in the dark, get home in the dark.
This thing is wired. I suck at electrical, so it's time to get my learn on.

Yeah he loved it. I didn't take any birds and he was all over the place but it was awesome. He'll be a little more calm next season

Anybody need a front bucket seat for a VW, or a VW seat for your..? I think it's passenger side, judging that the right side of the seat (when sitting in it) has the arm to fold the seat forward - though I am not well versed in cars I barely fit in.

Vinyl is complete and there's an extra OEM seat cover with it, though I don't know of its condition. Stored inside my buddies garage for at least 8 years, not sure if it needs only cleaning to look decent or if it needs cleaning and some vinyl dye, or maybe it needs a seat cover. You can decide.

Seat is complete minus the actual mount for the floor.

It's free for whoever comes and gets it in Santa Rosa and does it before Wednesday, ideally. I'll either toss it in the dumpster or let it sit on Craigslist for $20 until Friday and then toss it in the dumpster.

Most likely if nobody claims it by tomorrow afternoon I'll shit can it, so if you want it let me know asap.
