This is an Amazon search I used and highlighted the brands I find trustworthy, dependable and not overly costly. There are many pages to sift through and not all the results I would personally recommend. But, it does have a great representation of what is easily available with an Amazon Prime account.

When you're torquing down brake and steering parts, you are putting your life in the hands of that tool. So spend the money on a reputable one (ie - NOT from HF).

BTW, where can one verify the accuracy of a 10-year old torque wrench ?

Common protocol for a torque wrench is to zero it out after each use, regardless of manufacture. Unless said torque wrench already has that feature built into it(electromechanical torque wrenches such as my SnapOn have this feature built in).

Nowhere in that test did it mention the performance of other tested wrenches. It only mentioned that the HF was accurate and exceeded their expectations. I would hardly call that an endorsement of the Harbor Freight tool over the likes of the others...

I would have loved to see the entire results of that test. Not just an advertisement for the Harbor Freight product.

Yeah I noticed that as I was rereading it, but it does confirm that the HF does work well and should be considered.

Well Harbor Freight won. Sears didn't have jack shit stocked in the store. HF had what I needed. Rebuilding my ARB compressor with a new piston. Need 88 inch pounds. HF wrench will def be more accurate than guessing...

    Thanks for all the responses!

    RIP "BudMan."

This fine fellow learned too late, never trust that Harbor Freight,
Cheapo torque wrench is what he said, 88 inch lbs - now he's dead.
