Norcal Spotted and BS Thread

I picked up my truck about an hour ago from Toyota101. The column assembly needed to be replaced. I asked to see the old assembly just for shits and giggles. That thing was toast. I'm just glad it didn't separate on me on the last road trip from the Bay Area to Tuscon and back(with a few stops at Joshua Tree NP and the Siguaro National Park). According to the work order they also retorqued my suspension components and aligned it after the column replacement. Yay me. If you need a straight shooter for a service advisor and a truck guy to boot, Curt at Toyota101 is the man.

Dude, Toyota of fairfield...Get your shit together. Called me this morning asking about setting up a service, "We're super slammed right now, but we see you've been here before, we'd like to schedule you for""Imma stop you right there, I do my own services, but thank you!" "uh, ok then I'll just remove your address and truck and phone number and information from our servers..."

The way she said it sounded like a threat lol, 'I'm gonna delete you from us completely, OR ELSE'...I was like 'hah, go ahead, please.'


Then they call me again this afternoon, different girl, same exact conversation. I'm waiting for another call today, make it a solid three.

 

Toyota went to a call service. the call center is here in Sacramento at Maita Toyota. they might have there own or there all using the same one i don't know. it really sucks, as when i try to call to talk to my wife they are clueless and yet they work in the same building. Just so you know they are a corporate thing that Toyota came up with and not the dealerships.

 

Ugh. It was just annoying...when the first lady said she was going to delete all my information, it totally sounded like a threat, like I would jump back and beg for them to service my truck...I was just like...uh...please do...You guys call me like every 2-3 months and say the same shit. Then the second girl called and I was done "yeah, I already had this conversation with someone today, they said they were going to delete my shit, please do so immediately". I was also at work both times and the second time I was tired, cranky, and tired of work lol.

 

i totally understand. my wife has worked at a Toyota dealer for 10+ years and last yr they switched to this call center shit. I ve called the same number for yrs and asked to speak to my wife by first name and anyone who answered would know her and transfer me without a problem. now it takes three to four transfers, and its still a 50-50 chance i get through to her. not to mention tiring to call for parts.I'm just glad my wife works there and i can just text her and wait for her to have time to just do it herself.

 

Haha that's crazy. Yeah I try to stay away from the dealerships unless its for something I pretty much can't do, or I want to try to get them to honor a warranty claim somehow lol

 

Truck is going to rakin' hard for a week while the coilovers get re-valved.

No problem at all, bud! Totally figures the kid chilled out as soon as we got moving, sorry I had to drop and run, sometimes he's chill and sometimes it goes downhill really quickly lol.

 

With the first kid, it wasn't bad. With the way the 2nd felt about lack of momentum, I would have thrown the struts out the window and ran! No worries!

 

Lol I had a bowl of cherrios "puffs" for him, he was doing good until I got out of the car and he couldn't see him. I swear I thought I had beat you to your house lol, thought traffic was going alot slower behind me lol

 

Hello peeps so I just saw a post a bout new radio antennas and it got me thinking

I don't use my radio...
and was also trying to think of a place to put a CB antenna
do you think I would be able to take out the stock radio antenna and antenna base and mount the CB antenna there?
has anyone else done that?

 

@2015whitetaco Alot of people do that. I probably will as well since I don't use the radio. Having taken one apart and reinstalled, hit me up and i'll help you take yours off properly. I took bad advice with my prerunner and just snipped the wires at the firewall, wish Id just looked it up. Pull your passenger A pillar plastic and youll see the radio connection to disengage, then just remove it from the tabs holding it place and pull it from the firewall.
